It's day three and Calli visited Kiara again who was doing her water chores of the morning. Kiara carrying two full buckets of water with such weight, this is more like an exercise to her and that's why she's still fit. Calli watched from a far, chuckling at the suffering Kiara.
"How hard-working of her," said Calli.
Kiara suddenly tripped by a stone, and dropped the buckets. Now, the water is gone. Her clothes got muddy and she pouted.
"Oh come on! Uwahhh!! Whyyyy??!!" Kiara exclaimed.
Calli laughed. She formed herself into a shadow figure and showed herself to Kiara. She offered her hand and said "great start of the morning, huh?" before a chuckle.
Kiara looked at the figure and recognized her immediately. Her mad face turned happy. Happy to know Calli is back right in front of her.
"Aw Calli!" Kiara took Calli's hand and lifted herself.
"Did you miss me~?" asked Kiara.
She tried to hug her but, Calli's index finger was put on Kiara's forehead, refraining her from hugging Calli. Kiara pouts again as she can't hug death.
"Why are you even here when you don't want me to hug you?" asked Kiara.
"Because you're the one looking for me," replied Calli.
She's not wrong. Kiara does seek death.
"I'm here but not to take you out. Maybe some day," Calli added.
Kiara grins at death's presence.
"When will you?!" exclaimed Kiara.
Calli turned around and looked at the sky.
"...Only time can tell," said Calli, turning back to Kiara with a smile.
"Hey Calli," Kiara called.
Calli hummed in response.
"Why do people die?...What can I do when I'm dead?" asked Kiara.
Calli's smile faded, getting worried about Kiara.
"...People die... because not only Earth is the only place you can have fun with. Well, expect for hell. In the paradise, there are a lot you can do. Like you're a goddess... Why do you ask?" replied Calli.
"Why can't I have fun on Earth, then? Am I not yet dead because of how boring my life is? Like, all I do is chores, chores, chores. Find a lover. All in cycle, but I can't even release my poems. My happiness," said Kiara.
"What do you write about?" asked Calli.
"...Death..." replied Kiara.
"The love of my life is a pen and a paper, but I can't be married with it. So how am I going to die?" she added.
"Why do you seek to get a lover when you want to die so badly?" asked Calli.
"It's my father's wish. I have to get a lover before I turn 23, and if I want to be happy without showing my poems to the public, at least I have find someone that makes my heart, beat," said Kiara.
"...What if you're in love with death?" Calli mumbled.
Clear for Kiara to hear, making her blush.
" You think I'm in love with you?" asked Kiara.
Calli's face turned red and stuttered.
"Wh-what!? No! I meant what if you were in love with literal death! You want to die so bad even if you can still have fun here!"
Kiara went silent and looked down.
"How am I going to have fun?" she asked.
Calli didn't know what to answer. She doesn't even know Kiara that well. She can't help her. At least that's what she think.
"I don't know... Find someone who can release your poems to the public or something. That's all I can think of right now," said Calli.
"I'm tired of playing hide and seek," said Kiara.
"Then get a help from someone you know. Play together," said Calli.
Kiara raised her eyebrows and grinned.
"You can help me!" said Kiara.
"Me? I'm death, I can't help you," said Calli and chuckled.
"Who knows?! You've seen people live and how they lived their lives. Maybe tell me what they did and I'll try some of them! Something fun, of course," said Kiara.
Calli looked at Kiara in the eyes and smile, only for Kiara to blush with Death's pretty face. Her heart raced again. Damn this reaper, she looks great at every angle, every face. She's perfect. Then, a voice called for Kiara.
"Kiara!! Good morning!!"
It was Amelia with empty buckets on her arms. Kiara looked at Ame and greeted her good morning as well. After a short hug, Ame noticed how hard Kiara was smiling.
"What's so good in the morning that your smiling and red?" asked Ame.
Kiara looked back at Calli who is just behind her, watching them, then looked back to Ame with now a confused face. She then remembered how she is the only one who can see Calli. She shrugged off and chuckled.
"Nothing, just having a conversation with death," said Kiara.
Ame smiled at her friend.
"Don't you dare about thinking of going yet, I'm not ready. Or else you won't be able to see my surprise," said Ame with a smug face.
Kiara opened her eyes and tilted her head.
"What surprise?" she asked.
Ame shook her head and put a finger on Kiara's lips.
"A surprise is a surprise, I won't tell you just yet~ But! I do have a news for you~" said Ame.
Kiara hummed, wanting to know the news.
"I got accepted in my job!" said Ame.
"Really?!"
"Yeah!"
"What is it?"
"I am now a publisher," said Ame with her thumb pointing at herself.
Kiara's eyes widen, glad to know that her friend has a job. But then tilted her head again.
"But aren't those are a man's job?" asked Kiara.
"F*ck that woman and man thing. It's 90's! You need skills and knowledge to get accepted! It's our turn to be the man!" exclaimed Ame.
"Wow, are you doing that for yourself or Ina? 'Cause if I remember correctly, you want to be a doctor or if not, a detective," said Kiara.
Calli suddenly turned her head to Kiara.
"Geez, why remind me that. I tried to, honestly. But at least I have a job to make a living for myself. And Ina, of course," said Ame.
"Ina?" asked Calli, making Kiara turn her head to Death.
"Yeah, Ina. Why do you ask?" said Kiara, confusing Ame.
"... Nothing, yeah. Nothing..." said Death.
"You talking to someone?" asked Ame.
"Death's behind me, you just don't see her," said Kiara.
"Damn, too much of writing, alright. Say hello to Death for me and tell her it ain't my time yet," said Ame.
"You heard it, Calli~" said Kiara with a chuckle.
"I did," said Calli.
"Anyways, let's get some water. Look at how soaking your skirt is. And I have to make breakfast," said Ame.
Kiara agreed and followed Ame after a good time with Death.
