my mind is fuzzy, the last remnants of a dream being chased away by the realisation that i am awake again.
with a sigh, i cautiously open my eyes, the bright summer sunlight causing me to squint. i pull the duvet up over my head to keep it out. i felt my eyes slowly closing again, and i began to feel sleep take over my body, until my phone began making wild noises.
groaning, i managed to pull the covers off my body, putting my feet on the cold floor. i walk over to my dressing table, rubbing my eyes, before picking up my phone.
i pressed the home screen button, revealing a beautiful picture of the moon. the moon was lighting up the dark sky and there was no stars surrounding it, it was just a stunning view. alot of people have obsessions with one direction or justin bieber, but not me. i am in love with the moon. it sounds weird but i just find it the most beautiful thing in the world.
i slide it open, unlocking the home screen. a smile plays on my lips as i read the text message from my best friend chloe.
07:21am
new message from chloe💜
i'll be over in an hour babei lock my phone, placing it back on my dressing table. i walk over to my ensuite bathroom, turning the shower on. i undress as the shower warms up, before sliding in. the hot water meets my skin, relaxing me immediately.
i close my eyes letting the water fall down my body, before hitting the shower floor. i grab the shampoo bottle, squeezing some into my palm, then rubbing it all into my hair. i stand back under the shower. as i wash the shampoo suds from my hair, i think about my first day back at school.
i wasn't exactly popular, but i was friends with everyone, and i just hung out with a small friendship group of close friends. i pick up the bar of soap, washing my body. i finished the shower turning the hot water off. i felt a instant hit of coldness fill my body, so i quickly jump out the shower, wrapping a soft towel around my body.
i walk back into my bedroom, opening my wardrobe up wide. considering it was a very hot day in cali today, i picked out some high waisted, denim shorts, and a dark grey crop top. i dried my body, before slipping on my undergarments, then the shorts. i pulled the top over my head, gently tugging it into place.
i then moved to my dressing table. i wasn't really feeling makeup today, my skin was clear enough to not put any foundation on, but I dabbed some concealer in the needed areas. i curled my eyelashes, and added a few coats of mascara.
i plugged my hair dryer in, thoroughly blow drying my hair. i brushed through the freshly dried hair, pulling it into a loose ponytail. my hair had gone into my natural curls, but they looked okay, so i decided to just leave them in.
i opened my jewelry box, pulling out my watch, slipping on my wrist, tightening it. the familiar sounds from this morning came out of my phone again, i slid to unlock again, reading the new text from chloe saying she was outside. i grabbed my purse, and a long grey cardigan, slipping it on and my phone, before walking downstairs. i waved to my younger brother, and kissed my mother on the cheek.
"have a good day at school, darling." my mother smiled to me. i smile back, slipping my old skool black and white vans on, before waving goodbye to my family, opening the door, walking to chloe's car.
"you're looking cute today!" she smiles, as i sit down.
"as do you!" i say, looking her up and down.
the car journey was quick, as we were blowing out some of the popular songs on the radio, singing along at the top of our voices, with the roof down. we giggled as we reached school, turning the volume down on the radio. she parked up, before doing the roof up. we jumped out and she locked up, slipping the keys in her back pocket along with her phone.
we walked into the main doors of the school, before we had to walk our seperate ways because we had different form rooms. we waved goodbye, and i stopped outside my locker. i pulled out my three books for today. i had a very short day today - two hours of biology, two of french, then two hours of art, my favourite subject.
i locked my locker again, walking to my form room. i was greeted by another member of my friendship group, marnie, we smiled at each other, before i sat down next to her, dropping my books on the table.
"hey, boring day for you, huh?" she sighed at the books.
"you know it." i shrugged.
we were chatting for a while, then the bell rung throughout the classroom. we hugged goodbye as i began to walk to my first lesson.
i swayed between the tables before reaching my seat at the back. the last member of my friendship group, esme, sat down next to me. the whole class was being loud before out teacher came in and we settled down and got straight into our work.

i was sat with my group and we were all giggling at a picture on instagram, but we were silenced when one of the most popular boys in school, dylan, stood up on a table in the cafeteria and began talking.
"my parents are out of town, so i'm having a party at my house tonight, everyone is invited, just turn up, bring anyone." he speaks out to the whole cafeteria.
he sat back down, and me and my friends just peer at each other for a second, before we all started nodding to each other.
we all hadn't been to party for a while, so we thought why not. we all began to talk about what we were going to wear, and time just seemed to fly by and it was eventually the end of school. we all agreed to go to our separate houses, collect our stuff then come back to mine to all go to the party together.
i had a feeling tonight was going to be good.
