Percy Jackson x Child Of Apollo!GN!Reader- Clueless [3]

Percy woke up on a cot, staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. He didn't get to the infirmary very often because of Achilles's curse and because even before it he could easily heal himslef with water, so it took him a while to recognize the place.

"Ah, Percy! I see you woke up" Percy heard Will saying, and turned his face towards the voice. Will was dressed like a doctor, as always, but he looked a little less tired than usual. "How do you feel?" He asked Percy while checking the notes in his hand.

"Umm.. Fine, I guess" Percy replied as Y\N went in. They looked surprised when they saw Percy is awake, but their shocked face turned into a wide smile quickly- which was responded by Percy's heart doing a flip and Percy's stomach turn inside of him (in a good way).

"Okay, now sit down and look at me" Will ordered and Percy did as he said. He took a flashlight and lighted each of Percy's eyes. "Alright, no sign of concussion" Will mumbled and wrote something as Y\N sighed in relief, "but just to make sure, Percy, do you remember anything that happened yesterday?"

Percy nodded. "I was at the canoe lake with Annabeth and Grover, and I left the canoe to swim and check on the creatures there." Percy started at Will, who seemed to write every word Percy said; and then at Y\N, who was playing with their beaded necklace; until the children of Apollo nodded. "That's when I started wondering if I can make myself drown like I can make myself get wet. I focused as hard as I can on how I heard people describe the feeling of drowning until I started feeling it myself..." Y\N squeezed their eyebrows, obviously worried about Percy's words, while Will's pen ran on the paper to keep up with Percy's words. He exchanged looks with Y\N, and Percy thought they's having a silent conversation. "What happened then?" Will asked eventually, him and Y\N looking at Percy like children listening to their parents' stories. "I used my empathy link with Grover to tell him I need help, and then I assumed I fainted and woke up here"

Will wrote it all down and nodded again, share looks with Y\N from the corner of their eyes. "You remember what happened next? It's necessary so I can figure out the best way to take care of you". Percy thought a little before he answered. "Yeah, Y\N was there, too. When I woke up I had this weird warm feeling in my throat, and Y\N stood next to me and held a bottle of golden liquid. I didn't know what's going on when I woke up but they started singing in Ancient Greek and I fell asleep... The next thing I remember is waking up here and being questioned by you". Will wrote everything down, but made a face at Percy with the last part. Y\N didn't say a word yet, they were thinking hard now and they reacted to Percy's story only with their movements; covered their mouth with their hand and looked like they're about to cry when Percy told how he drowned, blushed a little when Percy described what they did for him, etc.

"Alright" Will said and smiled at Percy. "It seems like none irreparable damage has been caused to you, physically and mentally. Stay here for a few days and I'll come to check on you as much as I can; Y\N here-" he squeezed his sibling's shoulder a little "-will check on you when I can't. Rest as much as you can and let your body recover from this whole experience. If you really do this, I expect you'll be put of here in a week". Will smiled at Percy and pat on his shoulder, gave Y\N a quick hug and whispered something in their ear that made them blush and nod, and left.

But Will and Y\N didn't know everything, and Percy planned to keep it this way. He didn't mention that Y\N's voice was the sweetest he've ever heard; he didn't mention how he felt like they were touching a precious family property they want to keep harmless when they touched him, and the warmth he felt in his chest when they took care of him... It didn't seem to him like something important, even though he now found himself wondering if Y\N felt the same way as they started checking he's okay physically.

"Why your is heart beating so fast?" Y\N asked Percy as they checked his pulse. Percy tried to think of an explanation. It shouldn't be too hard, right? He made excuses to why he didn't come to class or made his homework. He can do this, he just needs to think-

"Ah, talking about what happened today probably was too exciting for me" Percy said and looked up to Y\N. Their e\c eyes were suspicious, of course, but they decided to believe him and let it go. After all, this day really was exciting.

"Okay. I don't see anything irreversible in the tests I just did, so just get some sleep and stay here until Solace or I will come see you. And for my dad's sake, don't go near the lake until we say you can"

Their last sentence made Percy chuckle. "What does that even mean? You're the ones who make the rules and I have to follow them?"

"No" Y\N said as they took the papers they needed and let their h\l (hair length) h\c (hair color) hair out of the messy bun they rolled it in. "But we're the doctors, and you're our patient. We know how to make you feel better, so you should listen to us." They smiled at Percy and went out, holding their papers to their chest.

And Y\N didn't know that, but their smile stayed in Percy's mind until he fell asleep, like Cheshire Cat's smile.

Y\N read the papers with Percy's test results and story (that was written in Will's messy "doctor's" writing) and cursed under their breath. Will joined them immediately, and the siblings shared their thoughts.

"It's bad" Y\N opened. "Real bad. Percy got cursed!"

Will nodded. "I already knew- wait, did you say he got cursed?"

Y\N nodded with their lips pressed tight. "Annabeth told me Aphrodite's cabin cursed him so I'll have to save him with an act of true love, but I didn't think it actually happen, or it might be so bad!" They looked stressed and panicked, and for a good reason.

"Why did he faint then? I've never heard of a curse that can do that" Will asked, and they both started thinking.

"Maybe he didn't have enough air anymore?" Will suggested, but Y\N shook their head. "No, he can breath underwater." Y\N could hear the little lightbulb light up in their head. "But if he made himself able to drown-"

"-He probably canceled his ability to breath underwater!" Will finished his sibling's sentence, and they shared smiles- but they didn't last very long. "Will, you know what it means? Aphrodite's kids are powerful, much more powerful than we thought." Y\N garbbed their brother's arm and forced him to look right at them. "If they can make a demigod as powerful as Percy drown himself..." They let the rest of the sentence hang in the air as they both took in the full meaning of what happened.

Either Aphrodite's kids are much more powerful and smart than they think, or someone else did this to Percy. But no matter which one is the truth, it can't lead to good results.
