(Before getting into this chapter, I just wanted to say that I know they are in New York, but I only know how they deal with suspects in Canada, and google literally won't tell what they do in the US, so, just deal with it being a little inaccurate sorry lol. The only difference I know is that in America you are guilty until proven innocent instead of the other way around, but other than that, I have no idea)

The ride to the police station felt like it took the entire day. No one in the van spoke a single word, besides Nick and Abi's occasional words of reassurance. She couldn't bear to look at Jacob. Not after he left her on that island with the werewolf that was apparently 'Max' whoever that was. At least he finally seemed to be accepting his defeat. Emma couldn't say that she hated Jacob, of course, she did have feelings for him before, but to her, it was never that serious. She just couldn't fall in love with someone so stupid, even if he could be loveable. As much as she didn't want to blame him, it was kind of his fault.

Emma looked around the back of the van, she needed to find something positive to focus on, she couldn't stand feeling like this. This will be quite the story for my subscribers, she thought, recalling her channel. At least she knew that they were definitely on her side, but she still couldn't be sure about anyone else.

Whoever these Laura and Max people were, it just sounded to her like they knew it would happen and didn't even think to warn or protect the counselors that were OUT IN THE OPEN to be eaten by GIANT WOLF PEOPLE. Maybe when she would meet them they'd be able to come up with a viable excuse.

As much as she didn't like feeling that way, she couldn't help but get a little worried by Jacob's expression. He looked worse than she'd ever seen him before. She didn't want to feel sympathetic for him after what he'd done, but that was in the past right? Maybe they could still be friends after all this... As long as he never left her to be eaten by werewolves again.

"Jacob, you ok?" Emma said trying to sound a little bad for him, even though her voice wasn't good at sounding anything other than annoyed, tired, or excited.

"Well, if you consider being arrested after wandering around the woods practically naked the entire night ok, then yeah I'm ok," Jacob responded sarcastically.

Yup, that was a Jacob response, Emma thought, at least glad that his personality was still there.

"I think we all feel the same way," Abi interjected, but Jacob gave her a confused look, "I mean, like, we all feel just... over it."

"You bet your ass I'm over this BS," Emma said with a tired sigh.

"I hope they just let us sleep when we get to the station," Nick said. Out of all of them, Nick seemed the most tired, and reasonably so.

"There's no way they'll let us sleep. They'll probably check up on our injuries first and then they'll allow us to call our family and lawyers and stuff..." Emma said, trying to remember what her moms told her about the system. They were both pretty interested in criminal justice, but neither of them pursued it.

Emma lowered her voice, "Everyone call a lawyer when we get there, by the way. Don't say anything the lawyer doesn't suggest to say during our interrogations, ok?"

"But if we don't say stuff won't they think that we're more guilty?" Jacob asked, a bit too loud.

"No, that's not how it works Jacob. They will use anything you say against you in court, you have to be extra careful, even though you clearly couldn't kill anyone," Emma responded.

"Oh ok... thanks?" Jacob said unsure if that was a compliment or not.

Emma laughed, "Take that how you want, I personally think that it's a compliment to be considered... not a murderer?"
