Ocean's Bio

(AhhhHhh this took me 2 hours to type (on a google doc)- I'm glad I have a chromebook it made it a lot easier haha- I'm gonna try to do Shamia's or another OC's tomorrow lolol)

Full name: Ocean Mae Della
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Pronouns: She/Her, though she doesn’t mind being referred to by They/Them.
Sexuality: Demisexual Heteroromantic
Height: 5 ft
Likes: scented candles, rainy weather (without thunder/lightening), orchestrated music (not necessarily classical), flowers (she could probably tell you any type if you asked).
Dislikes: sudden loud noises, spiders (she won’t scream if she sees one, but she’ll probably freeze up), her ex-boyfriend. 

Backstory (TW for abuse and death!): 
Ocean didn’t have a good childhood at all; her parents were physically and emotionally abusive. She convinced herself that her parents were hurting her because they loved her. At one point, she was an outgoing, enthusiastic child filled with nothing but curiosity, but she nearly became mute by the time she was a pre-teen, only speaking when she was spoken to. She never got the chance to be close with Shamia, her older sister, because the latter was always out doing extracurricular things for school. Her sister was the “golden child”, and even though Ocean did find herself jealous of her at times, she never hated her. It wasn’t her fault their parents were so cruel ( Shamia never knew about the abuse because she was hardly ever home). 

When she was twelve, she was involved with a major car accident with her parents and her sister. She was the only one to make it out alive. She had to stay in the hospital for a week because of her injuries, and afterwards ended up staying with her Aunt Marianne and Uncle Rhys, who are very wealthy because of Marianne’s boutique business. 

Later on, around her Junior year of high school, Ocean started dating a guy who ended up being an abusive asshole. After they broke up, she tried to avoid him at all cost, and her Aunt and Uncle made sure someone was always with her if they were away. However, he did end up injuring her and landing her in the hospital, which got him thrown in jail because her cousin Amanda happened to be visiting during her college winter break and caught him before he could get far (plus there were cameras). 

Now Ocean is attending Verde Bloom University of The Arts (she’s a college sophomore), and life seems to be better for her (other than the awful coffee shop job she has;;). She has friends and loved ones who support her, and she’s doing well in her college classes. 

Personality: She’s a gentle soul with a sensitive heart. She’s not very talkative, and most of the time she doesn’t really say anything unless someone says something to her (the only exception to this is her job). When she’s upset or flustered, she tends to stumble over her words and even repeat them or mix them up (she’s also bilingual, which doesn’t help with the mixing up words part). And swearing. She also swears a bit when she’s frustrated. 

Miscellaneous: 
… She’s a music major. Because of her music classes, she had to learn how to play a few instruments, though a couple she learned beforehand. She knows how to play the piano, violin, guitar and ukelele; she also knows how to play the flute a little from being in the concert band in eighth grade and her freshman year of highschool (she did choir the rest of her high school career).

… She drives a moped scooter because she isn’t fond of the idea of being behind the wheel of a car (she tried getting her driver’s license when she was eighteen and it almost ended terribly;;).

… She has anxiety, depression, and CPTSD; all of which have been medically diagnosed. 

… She’s allergic to strawberries, but she can eat a few with no problem (she has allergy pills for it in case a problem does arise). 

… She’s good friends with her ex-boyfriend’s younger sister, Dakota. 

… She wears kiddie band-aids that the kids at the daycare her cousin Amanda works at gave her (she takes Amanda lunch sometimes which is why she occasionally goes there).

… The first job she ever had was working in the jewelry section of Marianne’s boutique, and her  current job is at a coffee shop (she hates it). Her dream job is to open a flower shop.

... She can speak French fluently and sometimes gets words that sound similar in French and English mixed up.

... She lives in the college dorms on campus.
