"Hello there. I'm Marinette. What's your name?"

The kid glanced up at Marinette with a scowl.

He had caramel skin and jet black hair and was not amused.

"Didn't you know that before you adopted me?" The child rolled his eyes.

"Sorry..."

"Hey kid, treat her with respect." Adrien answered.

10 years old.

Who knew they could be so mean.

"Sorry...My name is Hugo. And I guess my name is now Hugo Agreste?"

"Yes!" Marinette smiled.

"Cool..."

It was kind of awkward but they'd get over it and become close eventually.

"Hugo," Marinette yelled, "Your mom is calling and you're gonna be late for school."

Hugo ran downstairs with a backpack and slid across the floor with fuzzy socks.

He grabbed the phone kissed Marinette on the cheek with a quick 'thanks Mother' before running towards the living room.

Marinette smiled. That was the first time he called her that.

"Hey Mom, how's Dad? Cool. Yeah Mother and Father are letting me invite some friends over. Yes, apparently I'm visiting you next week. Ok! Love you. Bye!"

Plagg ran back in the room gave his mom the phone, slipped his tennis shoes on and sprinted towards the door.

"Wait!" Adrien called out.

Plagg screeched to a stop.

"Yeah?"

"Homework?"

"Yes."

"Water bottle?"

"Yes."

"Lunch Money?"

"Yes."

"Phone?"

"Yesss, I gotta go Father I'm gonna be late. Bye!"

"Bye Hugo," The two said in unison.
