I don't wanna go to school tomorrow

"How are you feeling, mom?" the young y/n spoke quietly, leaning down to hand their mother a bowl of steaming soup.
"A bit tired, but I'm sure I'll be fi-" She was interrupted by a series of coughs.
"I'll go out and grab some herbs. I want to try a new medicine recipe I found. I'm sure you and dad will feel better in no time." They smiled warmly at the older woman before walking out the door and shutting it slowly behind them.
Y/n L/n is the child of two very ill adults who reside in the city of Mondstadt. Their parents came down with an illness that has yet to have a cure, and as of now it is the poor y/n's mission to find an impossible cure for their loved ones.
One of the things they believe will work is trying to create different medicines to help. This is usually why the L/n goes out to the herb store constantly, just like this very moment.
'I wonder what I should buy. Chamomile could be nice in a relaxing tea, I could try milk thistle..' As their thoughts took over themselves, they slowly pulled out a pouch containing their money.
What quickly snapped them out of their thoughts was a hard shove to the ground, making them let go of the pouch and whatever thoughts were floating in their mind.
Their eyes were met with two unfamiliar men wearing dirty and crumpled clothing, grabbing the pouch and stumbling out of the scene. Y/n got up quickly and stumbled forward, trying to keep up with the thieves.
"You damn jerks!" They yelled, trying their best to not trip over all the things the previous men threw behind them.
Y/n thought they lost the thieves, but when they turned a corner they were met with a foot against their stomach which threw them backwards. Y/n squinted their eyes, waiting for the impact, but was instead met with a pair of arms wrapping around them from under their shoulders.
The strange man sighed, and stared at the thieves. "You know, instead of stealing from other people, you should really try getting a job, even if it's just a paper boy."
He then let y/n stand on their own by letting go of them, and instead stood next to them and wrapped a single arm around their waist. Then y/n felt a huge gust of wind fly by them, and the two thieves were pushed to the ground by what looked like nothing.
Y/n stumbled a bit, but the man tightened his grip on them and they could feel more wind being thrown at the two men. They quickly retreated and the blond boy unwrapped his arm around y/n. He picked up the pouch of money before dusting it off lightly and handing it to them.
Y/n let out a sigh of relief and smiled at the boy who had been so kind to them. "Thank you, I appreciate it."
He smiled back at the poor person and bowed down, holding his hand out to y/n. "I have been looking everywhere for you."
"If I may, would I be allowed to escort you to where you need to go?" He said slowly, and leaned his head up to look y/n in the eyes.
Y/n let out an awkward laugh and gave the unknown man a look of concern. However something told them they could trust this strange man. Was it his looks? How he saved them? Or the sweet smile plastered across his features? Whatever the case, y/n had a gut feeling that it wouldn't be terrible to trust the man.
So against every thought about "stranger danger," they reached out and placed their hand in his. He wrapped his fingers around theirs and quickly snaked his arm around their waist. Soon after, Y/n felt a strong wind current push them up, and they grabbed onto the blond with their other arm.
"What the f-" They stopped themselves as they looked down over all the houses, each one with intricate designs and each person going about their own individual day.
Though it was a mesmerizing sight, Y/n couldn't help but feel butterflies of nervousness as they knew they were many feet in the air with a complete stranger.
"The wind will help us get there, but we're going to need to walk." He said smoothly, interrupting their thoughts.
Y/n nodded quickly in response, wishing that they'd get down from the terrifying height soon.
Further, he continued. "One step, two step," he took one step forward, then the next, and they mirrored him.
"One, two, one, two.." He stopped and smiled lightly, looking over to them. "You're a natural at this."
Y/n's face was painted with uneasiness and content when he said that. It felt nice, and he said it like he genuinely meant it. However, they were literally being praised about walking in the air.
The duo soon made it in front of the small herb store and he laid a light kiss on the top of y/n's hand making them bring their hand back uncomfortably. "Be safe when going home. There have been rumours of one of the Tsaritsa's witches roaming Mondstadt, so be careful."
They nodded with a closed eye smile, but when they opened their eyes, he had disappeared leaving a slight breeze in his place. Y/n sighed, trying to decipher if the braided haired man was even real, before they entered the herb store.
Bells attached to the door created a small jingle, and when y/n walked in the smell of teas and greenery filled their nose.
"Good afternoon, Lisa." Y/n smiled at the herb store owner, trying to shake off the previous events.
"Well if it isn't my favourite customer. How did the medicine last?" The woman said calmly.
"Same as always. But I have a feeling I'll get somewhere eventually."
"That's a good way of thinking, cutie."
Y/n looked around the shop before settling on a few fresh herbs and seeds. They collected the items and brought them over to the wooden table for Lisa to count.
"I heard some people talking about how they saw you floating up in the sky." Lisa laughed, counting the money you had given her.
"Well I was attacked by these thieves, then this guy came and was like phew phew and pow pow and then he brought me into the sky! Then he dropped me off here and vanished.."
The worker sighed, and handed them a bag with their herbs. "You've gotta be careful cutie. Who knows if that was a bad wizard, maybe even Aether! Or Tartaglia!"
Y/n laughed softly at the woman and took the bag thanking her.
'Today was an interesting day..' They thought, nodding to themselves as they shut the door with a ding.
If only they knew just how interesting this day would get.
