With droopy lids, his eyes slowly fluttered open to look around the icy room. Y/n watched the boy slowly wake up, and both a pang of guilt and hope bubbled inside them.

Aether, slowly realizing where he was, shot his head up and immediately looked around. His gaze hazy, he was able to make out familiar figures standing around a long table.

He turned his head beside him to see Scaramouche holding the end of a chain. The chain went towards Aether's arms, where there lay a pair of tight handcuffs.

Y/n saw the blond's attention direct to the pale woman gowned in blue silk which drew tightly around her body. A silver spiked crown laying upon her head was the one thing that caught his attention the most, letting Aether realize that the woman he was facing was in fact the Tsaritsa herself. Again.

"I don't suppose you know what you're talking about, Mx. Y/n." Her voice echoed throughout the room. It was cold and smooth, soothing enough to put you to sleep, but malicious enough to give you nightmares.

Scribbling sounds were made, and a pen hitting the table was heard. Y/n looked up from the table with little confidence in their eyes. For what seemed like an eternity, the young person had been trying to persuade the Tsaritsa with any bargain they could come up with so as to not harm Aether while said boy was unconscious. However, even after so long it seemed that ultimately they couldn't figure out a way.

The note was soon handed to the woman. After a quick glance at the paper, she crumbled it and handed the paper to a ginger-headed male, who stuffed it into his puffy jacket. Her eyes turned away from y/n, leaving them with even more lost hope. And instead, faced the now conscious blond.

"Aether, why would you run away like that? You know doing this will be for your benefit. You'll be safe helping us." The white-haired woman explained, forcing a small smile to lay upon her features.

Aether blinked once, then twice, then thrice, until he finally opened his mouth to speak, "I do not want to join nor help the fatui. If I die I die, but there is no way I'm going to be helping you." He spat, seemingly too annoyed to deal with all this.
