"Where you at" she asks

"In graphic design" I say and it's my blow off period that's why I was able to answer her call

"Bet imma tell you when to come outside" she says hanging up and not even giving me a chance to answer. In a few minutes she texts me that she's outside my class

"Can I go to the bathroom" I ask my teacher and she lets me go. I walk outside and see her standing there "why are you blocking my education" I ask she sucks her teeth

"I know this ya bullshit period. Anyways I need someone to talk to, I'm a little overwhelmed" she says and now I'm anxious to see what it is

"What is it" I ask

"You know they just passed that NIL law right" she asks

"Yea I saw the top college players already getting multi million dollar deals lined up" I say

"Right well that's hitting us high ranked recruits too. I haven't committed yet so my top 5 schools all sent me an updated "incentive" for me to go to there schools. It's insane just look" she says pulling out her phone and showing me pictures. She ain't lying they really going all out now but it's just more of the same thing she's been getting. Just apparel but it's always new "what's really changed is the papers they sent me that have NIL opportunities that they can get me" she says

"Ok like what" I ask just tryna grasp a better understanding

"Rolex, beats, Gatorade, Taco Bell, apartments, cars, and a bunch of other shit. I don't know it's crazy like I could be 18 living like I'm already in the league" she says and damn can she hurry up and make things right? I deserve to be apart of all that

"Shit y'all about to be bringing in the money huh. Are you reconsidering where you're going? Cause aren't y'all supposed to tell Coach O at the end of the week like officially" I ask

"Yeah it's just all this stuff it just wasn't expected. I thought I'd have to worry about that come you know in about a year" she says

"What's LSU talking about" I ask and she scoffs

"Oh they laid it out for us like we have our individuals opportunities but they got us some together too it's crazy. They're talking about putting us and these two other top recruits that wanna play with us in a house. Bro Mercedes wanna work with me, like Mercedes fuckin Benz. Manny got some deal with Rolex and Nick with beats. Like we haven't stepped on the field yet, won't for another year and a half. Yet we already wanted for future endorsements and some endorsements right now" she says and that is a lot of shit to wake up too

"For me you've always wanted to go to LSU and now they've thrown everything at you. That's where you're supposed to be and where I can see you in the next step of your career. Before the law passed y'all were all about LSU and playin together 4 more years with the commitment video. Just take a break from all of that for a second and breathe. You knew this would eventually come and now you have to take it one day at a time" I say trying to be helpful

"Gatorade wanna get me in a commercial bruh like is this really happenin" she asks and I can tell it's just excitement and shock. She knew it would come but still for it to be here has to be a lot going on, especially with her rapid imagination

"Of course it is you're the #1 high school football player in the country. You've earned this now you just gotta take it" I say

"What about me" I ask looking at her confused

"I mean we talked about my future and everything I got going on. I want you there with me" she says and that was cute
