We just got to the stadium and it's crazy to think this could possibly be my 3rd straight state title. I find a locker and get all the stuff out of my bag. I sit back and close my eyes and visualize what I need to do to get this ring. In the middle of my thoughts I feel a tap on my leg

"Coach wants to run some of those new routes to make sure the timing is good. Get your bottoms on and come on" my QB coach says and I grab my pads and bottoms and change. I put my AirPods back in the case and lace up my cleats. I walk out to the field and find them waiting for me

"We need timing to be perfect. Execution of the routes needs to be on point" coach says and we say yes sir and they hand me a ball. We run these routes and make sure everything is together

"How you feel. I can't lie I got butterflies, I'm ready but this is my first state game" one of my receivers says

"It's coo to be nervous but that shows me you care. I get butterflies every time I play. You gotta just tune out the noise and remember everything you've learned and what for us here" I say as we walk in the locker room and before every game it's silence until we hit the field "AYYEEE LOCK IN LESSGO" I yell so everyone can hear me and everyone gets quiet. I sit back in my locker and put my AirPods in as I get ready. Coach comes in and we all get ready to listen to pre game

"This is what we've been working for. Back to back state champs was the goal. I need everything you have for the next 40 minutes. Seniors there's only 40 minutes left of your high school career. We're ready and we WILL win this game. DOMINATE THEM, DESTROY THEM, AND WIN THIS GAME. NOW LETS GO" he says and we start yelling and screaming

"Family on me win on 3" I yell and count down

I lead my team out and our blow up is right outside so our fans can't see us until they see the theatrics start. Once everything is over I walk up with the other captains for coin toss. We win it and of course we defend first

"EAT LESSGO" I tell Manny and Nick as they run out for defense. They score on a trick play and for the first time all season we start from behind. I get my plays and run on the field to the huddle. Our first play is a run option and when I hike the ball the linebacker goes with the running back. I run with the ball and I see them start to close in so I slide so I can get as many yards as possible for the first down. I call play action and scan the field before hiking the ball. I pump fake when KJ makes his cut and the defender falls for it and I throw a lob pass to him. He toe taps and falls out of bound around their 15 yard line. I call no huddle and run slants and hit Myles streaking across the field for the touchdown

Offense runs off and goes to sit down as coaches tell is good job and adjustments for the next drive. I grab some water and listen. I hear the crowd scream and I see them scoring another touchdown. Damn what the fuck is up with defense we just got over here bro. I sigh out and get the plays for the next drive and I'll talk to Nick and Manny later cause they need to get it together. We only get a field goal because Jefferson couldn't hang on to the pass so we're down by 4 going into the second quarter

"Bro you're playing like a bitch" Manny says and I look to see who he's talking about because I got my nigga back

"You missing tackles tryna take niggas head off fuck out my face" Nick says and I roll my eyes we don't need our best defensive players fighting in the state game

"Call a timeout" I tell coach

"What" he asks

"Call a timeout they can't go out there like this. We'll get destroyed" I say and he sighs out and calls a full timeout. I jog over to them "fuck is wrong with y'all bro. We don't need this shit right now. So whatever lil petty testosterone filled beef yall got right now. Dead it because we need y'all. Y'all getting killed on defense and my line ain't getting no rest. Pull your head out of your ass and get the job done" I say smacking them on the helmet
