Then there's the matter of our romantic lives. We're either dating or not. The people we know who are dating always complain about how their relationship isn't working; either one of the partners isn't looking for anything serious or the relationship simply isn't working. All of this, combined with the fact that divorce has become the norm among those we look up to in society, namely celebrities, makes us hesitant to commit to a relationship. We still give it a shot though. But it turns out that the people we want aren't interested in us. We try to give them all the green lights, but they aren't quick enough to notice them. We try again, but this time we discover our crush already has a partner, which torments our hearts as we become trapped in our one-sided love. We promise ourselves that we will never love again, and our friends and families believe we are closed to love, but deep within us, we yearn for affection and love. Our older aunts start giving us the when-are-you-getting-married look or start recommending their old bachelor friends to us.
