TW: Verbal Abuse, Physical Abuse, Swears/Language words, Depression, Blood
A ray of Sun seeped from a window and onto Ashlyn's face, awaking her from her light slumber.
At first Ash attempted to roll to the side of her fluffy bed in order to block it and possibly get a few more minutes of sleep. Though, it was a useless attempt and she was awake.
Ash hated being awake. She hated life, and she hated her parents. In her eyes, there was nothing in life that was worth the pain and suffering of her existence.
Ash rolled out of her soft cot with a small jump, grey paws hitting the dirty floor.
She trudged through dirty clothing which was scattered across her floor. A pile of rock tees, hoodies and beanies which grew with each passing day.
Ashlyn came upon her door and twisted the knob, it made a small rusty clink. She made way through the hallway and to the bathroom.
None of her family was up yet, it was reassuring. She wished that they could sleep, or at the very least leave her alone, forever.
Her paws hit tiles, she paced over to a musty vanity and stared at her reflection. The anthropomorphic wolf had grey fur, a long sweeping of hair at the right side of her face and.. she winced as she looked at the scar which lay on her wet black nose.
Memories flashed through her.
Suddenly salty tears waterfalled from her sockets and she grasped her head in her paws. Ash fell to the bathroom floor and clutched her head in her fuzzy arms, choking in between sobs.Footsteps.
Ash lifted her sobbing wet head, her ears swiveled to the noise. Her brown pupils shrunk and her heart sped.
They came closer.
She darted around the room, searching for places to hide. Anywhere.
The door opened quickly, it smashed against the wall and caused the room to shake slightly.
"YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING B*TCH, YOU WOKE ME UP WITH YOUR F**KING ANNOYING SOBS." A woman's voice came.
Ash's mother.
Ash kept her head down and avoided her icy gaze.
"Mother- I didn't mean to disturb you I just-" Ash choked in between sobs "I just- I needed to go to the bathroom-"
The woman grabbed her face tight and pulled her upwards, forcing Ash's eyes on hers. Her mother's lip was pulled back in a snarl and her lemon yellow eyes stared through her with an intensity that made Ash want to shrivel up and disappear.
"That's a f**king AWFUL reason, YOU KNOW YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO CRY." Her mother growled.
As Ash attempted to explain again, her tears rushed faster, frantically thinking of a way to explain.
Her mother was extremely narcissistic and self absorbed, if Ash were to mention the reason as to why she was crying, she would surely be hurt in the aftermath.
Unfortunately, she was hurt anyway.
Razor sharp claws scraped across her left cheek.
Warm blood dripped down her fur.
For moments Ash sat in shock. She stared at her mother, who's mouth curled into a toothy smile and she laughed. She laughed at Ash's pain. At the pain she inflicted on her on daughter.
The sound was bone chilling and made her want to kill herself.
In some sick and despicable way the awful woman gained satisfaction from Ash's pain.
Then when she had her fun she strutted away with Ash's blood still dripping from her claws and leaving Ashlyn to her shock.
Ash suppressed tears and sat in silence and stripped a bit of toilet paper from its role, and pressed it to her bleeding cut.
Ash emotionlessly left the bathroom with the cloth still pressed against her face.
There was no reason for her to exist and no reason for her to be happy. She was alone in this bloody world.
For now.
