New Mission

I have been using Rengokus special training after I got fully healed, and I've never seen better progression. I feel stronger and faster, I can cut tougher things, and I've got better endurance now as well.

I tried to visit Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. When I first met him, he tried to ask me on a date, but I declined and went back to training.

But right now, I'm polishing my katana on a whetstone, so it's sharper, my crow flies down next to me.

"Mugen Train! Mugen Train! Hurry and join your master to help solve the mystery of the Mugen Train!"

I collect all my gear and stop by the butterfly mansion to say goodbye to Shinobu. Actually, I said bye to all of the Hashira, but Shinobu was last.

"Hey Shinobu!" I walk in and take my footwear off.

"Yes?"

"I've come to say goodbye! I'm heading to a mission!"

"Oh, please come here! I need your help."

I question what she could be doing, but I follow her voice into the kitchen. She's trying to make food.

"I think I've messed up the recipe." She looks sad and definitely needs help.

I looked over the pot she was cooking in, and the smell almost made me pass out.

"Yeah..." I hold my nose. "You definitely messed something up."

"I need help remaking this for Kanao."

"Why do you need my help? Just follow the books recipe."

"Their is no book recipe for this."

"What are you trying to make!?"

"It is Kanaos' favorite. Just please help!" She gives me a pleading look, and I give in.

"Fiiiinnne." I roll my sleeves up since I'm not about to change outfits just to cook.

I follow the instructions Shinobu gives me, and after a few minutes, I make a perfect stew that doesn't smell like death.

"Now, all we need to do is give it to Kanao."

"I've got it."

"Oh, thank you, Asuga." She pats my head acting like mother even though she's not near the age for that. I blush just a tiny bit.

I walk into Kanaos' room and see her in bed.

'Must've just got done training.'

She looks at me but widens her eyes at the food I bring with me.

I place the table over her lap and fix a napkin and drink for her just to make her feel extra special.

She looks at the food for a minute, then at me. She doesn't even reach for her coin.

Quickly, she embraced me in a hug and then quickly let go of a small blush.

'Aww.'

She takes the spoon and starts to eat, so I pat her head and say.

"I'm off for a mission." I walk to the door. "Don't forget me!" I say with a giggle at the end and close her door as I leave.

"Bye Shinobu, I'm leaving now!"

I put my footwear back on and turned to see Kocho with her arms open mid-air flying at me

I yelp but catch her, and she hugs me tightly.

"Be safe! I'll miss you... maybe. We can go hang out when we have time?"

"That... that would be great!" I smile, and she smiles back.

I let her down, and I wave my final goodbye.

"Bye, Kocho!"

"Bye, Asuga!"

I make it to the town the train resides in, and I order a ticket. I board the train just before it leaves, and I'm near the back of the train. I still have that lingering bad feeling in my gut...
