I get up to retrieve his blade for anything like a momento to his little brother or something for his funeral.

I pick up the blade but notice something.

I killed Akaza near the tree line so he would've taken longer to disintegrate and die, but I don't see even a little hint he was here.

The sun shines through the leaves, and I finally see it.

Footsteps. Running into the darkness.

"No. No no no no NO! YOU BASTARD! I'LL KILL YOU, EVEN IF I DIE WHEN I DO I'LL BE WAITING IN HELL! I'LL BE SURE THIS TIME JUST YOU SEE YOU BASTARD!"

I am so mad I can't see straight, and I wobble a bit. I try to curse at the trees once more, but more darkness closes in on me, and I pass out.

I awake and notice it's mid day. I have bandages all over my body, and I'm in the butterfly mansion.

"Oh, you're awake."

I look to my left and see it's the Insect Hashira Kocho Shinobu.

"I was told by the master to tell you about your knew blade. It's for your promotion to Hashira even under these sad circumstances."

"Ok."

"...Also... I want to say... Rengoku would be proud of you right now, and you know that, but all the other Hashira really like you, and we had a meeting while you were out. We've decided that you are more than skilled to be a Hashira, and we will support you always."

"Thank you, Kocho, and tell everyone else I'm always thankful for the opportunity to prove my worth."

"Oh, by the way." She plants a soft kiss on my cheek. "You can train now. You were out for your whole recovery." She says just before leaving.

"Eh?"

I am stunned, but I blush all over my face.

'Did she just!!!'

I cover my face with the covers and fangirl a little more before getting up and out of bed.

I look at my new sword and see the katana guard I was given by Kyojuro was already attached. I grab the hilt of my blade and watch the metal change. Instead of a basic red katana, it's patterned in flames up the sturdy back, and the bright red hue takes form. The words 'destroyer of demons' are engraved near the start of the blade. I will always swear my katana is a special type of red as mine is especially red, almost glowing. Now that I see the guard I am hit again with sadness. But also rage and strife. This must be how Kocho feels all the time. Livid.

Being the next Hashira hits me like a truck. But nows not time for recollection it's time for breakfast.

I eat with my friends and start training immediately. But mine is more hard as I have Aoi on my back and the boys have the little kids.

I think I saw Aoi blush a little once we got done.

We trained for four months right after the death of Kyojuro Rengoku, and as a new Hashira, I have to fill big shoes. The boys were shirtless, and since I have breasts, I wear my black sarashi instead of the bandages that used to cover my wounds.

We were able to take on solo missions, and I was given harder tasks, but I'm fine with it.

I just got back from a mission, and I had myself a relaxing bath, but I heard commotion outside, so when I looked out the window, I didn't expect to see the sound hasira Tengen.

I gather from the arguing that Tengen needs a female demon slayer to accompany him for his mission, and I don't think he's smart enough to realise I'm always free for a mission.

I use some of the new stealth training I've been doing and sneak behind the former shinobi.

"Just take me." I say.

"Huh?"

"When did you get up there, Asuga?" Tanjiro yells.

"If you need a female demon slayer, just take me and let Aoi stay here. She's much more valuable here. I actually have some motivation to come back and see a cute face."

She blushes and hits Tengens back more.

"We four will go!"

"Huh?" Tengen sees Zenitsu and Inosuke on the wall next to us, and they make a flashy entrance next to Tanjiro.

"What's going on, you three? What do you have to say?"

"I just got back this second, but I have power to spare! I'll be glad to go!" Inosuke is always up for a mission. I can somewhat admire that.

"Y-Y-You let Aoi go, you hear me? You may be a muscular monster, but I'm not b-b-b-backing down! No, sir!" Zenitsu actually stood up for someone. I'm so proud!

The three then do weird stances, and Tengen says.

"Is that right? Then I guess I'll take you with me."

"I'm just gonna ignore that butt slap Tengen." I say as I give off my scary vibe, and he sweats a little in a funny way.

"Ah yes, Asuga. Sorry."

"Asuga!" I look behind and see Aoi calling for me. I make them wait and run back.

"Yes, Aoi?"

"Did you mean what you said when you said I had a cute face? Cause I thought you said that, and I was just... yeah."

The little girls beside her start talking.

One gasps. "she's gonna ask!"

"Now? Really?"

"I hope she accepts!"

Aoi shuts their mouths and just wants me to answer her first question.

"Uh yeah, I did mean that."

"Oh ok, I was just wondering, but uh, good luck on your mission, and I'll have your favorite curry when you get back."

"Oh, now I'm excited!"

I turn to go back to the boys and see their already far away.

"Ah! Wait!" I run after them so I don't get lost trying to find where to go.
