Damon leaned his head against his arm as he stared out the window of the moving vehicle. It'd been two hours since they left Mystic Falls, they being him, Klaus and Katherine with Klaus's male witch and Elijah's corpse. As soon as Katherine returned from her errand, giving Stefan the cure, Klaus compelled her not to try escaping him and ordered the group to head out. Currently, they were riding in separate vehicles. Klaus and Damon were in a black Audi A6 driving in front, while Katherine and the witch were in a white truck behind them, with Elijah's coffin.

"Do you plan on ignoring me for the next ten years, Little Raven?" Klaus broke the silence with a calm yet sullen tone. Damon ignored him and continued to stare out the window, feeling surprisingly empty and rather sad. The Salvatore wasn't expecting to have such a strong reaction to losing Elijah, yet here he was, sulking like a lovesick teenager, whose parents forbade him from seeing his lover. "Love, I really didn't wish to separate you but my brother had it coming for trying to kill me. I didn't dagger him because of you," Klaus explained, hoping to at least gain a reaction.

Damon gazed back at the older with indifference and simply shook his head and huffed disapprovingly, before returning to his previous position. The hybrid sighed in defeat, choosing to give the younger a little more space for the time being. Similar to Damon, the Original wasn't expecting such a reaction to Elijah's daggering. Niklaus knew the Little Raven was fond of his brother but it seemed their relationship had progressed faster than he anticipated. If he wished to have any chance with Damon, he'd have to compromise (accordingly of course, he was still Klaus Mikaelson) and work on gaining the Little Raven's trust.

The ride continued to be mostly silent for the next two hours, the radio being the only noise, other than the car's engine, that filled the vampires' ears. Damon was beginning to grow bored and knew his silent treatment of Klaus, won't last much longer if he didn't leave the car soon. The Salvatore was determined to hold out on giving Klaus a chance, for as long as possible. Damon was aware, that technically the hybrid could charm him and he was afraid of it happening sooner rather than later, especially after his body's reaction to the hybrid feeding on him. Elijah deserved better than that from Damon.

Damon may be a lot of things but he wasn't a cheat and Elijah had been one of the best things that happened to him. He won't throw that away easily without attempting to fight. The Salvatore hoped to catch Klaus off guard at some point and maybe release the dagger from his lover, awakening him. Elijah would have two options then, either to run away from his brother and leave Damon, proving to the Salvatore once again that love is fickle and only causes heartbreak, or, the Original sticks around and keeps an eye on his brother and cares for Damon, slowly making the Salvatore fall deeper in love with him.

Damon's thoughts came to an abrupt pause as the vehicle stopped and Klaus turned off the engine. The Salvatore hadn't realised they'd exited the freeway and were now parked in a bar's lot, in a small town outside of Mystic Falls. "Come on Love, you must be hungry," Klaus commented as he noticed Damon's confused expression. The younger turned to Klaus with a glare but couldn't help but sigh internally with relief at the proposition. Now, Damon had an excuse to go off and not only drink some blood but also avoid Klaus and his yearning gazes. The hybrid seemed to notice the small glint of excitement in the raven's eyes and smiled proudly to himself.
