(though the story will follow most of the plot, the ages of characters will not sorry )its your last day at your dads house in Nevada and your forced to move across the country to Hawkins Indiana where your mother and younger brother live, you move during the summer of 78' you turn 11 next month , which is a week after you go into 5th grade at your new school , Hawkins elementary school to be exact.
Hawkins is a small town just outside of Indianapolis , Indiana . Dustin your little brother just turned 5 and is going into kindergarten at the same school, you walk in the doors of your mothers house and you can smell the rain in the air as you do so , the air was humid as you hugged your mother "hi sweetie" she hugged you with a firm grip. you bent down and hugged your brother "hey Dustin" you smile at the small boy you haven't seen in years, your mom signs some papers with the cps woman before she gets into her car and drives off, your mom shows you your room. you clear some boxes out of the way and lay on the bed listening to music before drifting off to sleep.
you wake up to small hands tapping your shoulders "y/n , y/n wake up mom made breakfast" Dustin whines as you open your eyes "okay , okay ill be there in a minute go ahead and eat" you get up and put on a t-shirt and jean shorts, you brush your hair before leaving your room to go into the kitchen to get some breakfast , you sit next to your brother Dustin and eat a waffle while your mom pours both of you a glass of milk.
TIME SKIP : FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
you wake up to the loud chirping of your alarm clock, you get up and rush to the bathroom to brush your hair and teeth , once your back in your room you pick out your outfit (pictured below)

you put on some lip-gloss and grab the back pack you had packed with school supplies from your dads house, you pack a lunch from the kitchen before sitting down to eat breakfast with you brother, since the school is only 2 blocks away u will be walking to school, but since your both new your mom is driving you for the first couple of days. You and your brother eat some pancakes before he grabs his stuff and u grab yours , your mom drives you to school and you walk Dustin to class before going to find your class ( yall were given pieces of paper that's how you know btw ) your teacher Mrs. Fuller makes you stand in front of the class and introduce your self, "Hi , i'm y/n Henderson I moved here from Nevada " ,"great take a seat next to Harrington" the teacher announces, Steve raises his hand so you know who to sit next to. "hi" Steve says shooting a smile your direction " hi" you give a small wave, "want to be friends?" the boy tilts his head slightly waiting for a response , "yeah, I'd love to".
