ch. eleven

"Jean!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, rushing to him as a Titan appeared. I flung myself in front of him, using the ODM gear to wrap around the Titan, slicing the back of its neck open. I landed on the Titan's back as it crashed to the ground.

I looked to make sure Jean was okay, seeing Conny helping him up. I then focused on Eren, watching him as he was fighting another Titan. I will never not be amazed by his Titan form.

Every day I see him out training, and Hange tells me about all of their experiments that have been successful. I can't be by his side, but I can cheer for him from afar, as his teammate.

"Y/N!" Levi yelled, gaining my attention. I flew to his side, automatically going along with him and slicing the Titan's ankles as Levi cut the neck open. Blood rained down on me, and Levi nodded at me with appreciation.

"A whole group of Titan's are heading our way!" Conny yelled, pointing up ahead. Everyone looked around worriedly. Eren ran forwards, pushing them all to the ground as he fell on top of them. I watched as he bit their flesh open, ripped their limbs off, and roared so loudly that it felt like my eardrums would burst.

"He needs back up," I gasped as one bit into his side.

"Wait," Levi commanded. "One minute longer."

And in that one minute, two more Titans had injured him. His left hand had been swallowed, and he roared in pain, falling to the ground as the Titans trampled him.

"I'm not waiting!" I screamed, zooming to Eren's side. I glanced to see Mikasa by my side, and we attempted to slice through every one of the Titans on our own. Finally, the rest of the group had appeared, killing them all. I landed on the ground by Eren's head, caressing his cheek while he was still in his form.

"Eren," I gasped at the state he was in. "Open your eyes. Come on, let me see those green eyes of yours. Let me know you're okay."

His eyes fluttered open and closed, until finally, they didn't open again. "Cut him out! Get him out of there!" I screamed, jumping on his body, aiming in an area where I wouldn't hit in, and stuck my sword through his flesh.

"Move, Y/N, let me handle this." Levi pushed me aside. I felt a grip on my hand, and looked up to see Jean peering down at me. Then I felt Sasha wrap her arm around mine. My heart dropped when Levi pulled him out.

Eren's body was limp. His head tilted backwards, and I rushed to his side. I pulled him to my chest as Levi and Armin pulled his legs out of his Titan.

"Wake up Eren, wake up." I begged, tracing the marks under his eyes and moving his hair out of his face.

"Hange!" Levi yelled.

Then everything tuned out. Everything was mute for me as I held Eren, feeling his faint heart beat. His breath was light, and I began to panic.

We all got on our horses and rode back home. Eren was in the carriage with Hange, but no one would allow me to ride with him. Hange let Mikasa ride though, which made my blood boil with jealousy.

"He'll be okay!" Reiner yelled to me as he rode on his horse by my side. I gave him a curt nod, trying my best to believe his words.

. . .

"Can I see him?" I asked Hange as they closed the door of his room.

"He needs rest," Hange sighed.

"He can rest while I'm in there."

"Y/N-"

"Yes or no, Hange?" I cut them off. They looked down at the ground, but nodded. I was in his room in a heart beat, gently shutting the door.
