3. Get Out of My Head

Kate's POV

I was gonna talk to him after class but he rushed out the door without even a look my way. 'Did we displease him?' my wolf whined. 'No, maybe he's just in a hurry to get to his next class' I responded even though I wondered the same thing. I've always heard that when you find your mate it's hard to stay away from each other so you'd think he'd at least introduce himself.

Third period was super boring but now it's time for lunch and I am starving! I walked in the cafeteria and looked for an empty spot somewhere when Mike, the guy I met in first period, came up to me.

"Hey Kate, I was wondering if you wanted to sit with me. I'd assume you don't know many other people."

"Um, yeah thanks I would like that" I followed him over to a table with just two other people sitting there; one was a girl and the other a guy.

"Kate, these are my friends Karina and Logan."

At first lunch was kind of quiet but I soon found out me and the girl, Karina, had a lot in common. I liked this little group of people, after getting to know them for a while I heard everyone in the lunchroom suddenly quiet down and even saw some people bowing their heads. 'What is going on' I thought, and then I smelt him and looked up to see him strolling into the cafeteria with his arm wrapped around a girl's waist. I recognized the girl to be the person who snarled at me this morning in the parking lot, and though I would try not to show it, I was crushed. I had only ever looked at my mate and he already has another girl, I was so confused that I had to get up and get him out of my sight. I ran to the bathroom and let a few tears drip down my cheeks. I didn't realize how long I was in there until I heard that stupid bell ring.

I was walking out of the bathroom when I heard a light moaning sound coming from around the corner. As I peered around the lockers I got a good look at my mate, Coleton, and the girl from earlier. She was moaning into his ear as he kissed down her neck and grabbed her butt with his right hand. Seeing this made my wolf start to cry, knowing she was hurt made me feel even worse. My wolf eventually let out a loud whimper and as if he could hear it he lifted his head from the girl's neck and looked right at me. "Babe, what's wrong?" the girl said while trying to regain his attention. Then realizing he was looking at something she turned to me.

"What the hell! Were you watching us?" she yelled, but all I did was shift my eyes towards the floor.

"Are you going to answer me? Is there something wrong with you?" she yelled again.

'Our mate is not helping us' cried my wolf. I looked up at Coleton as a single tear rolled down my face and told my wolf 'I don't think he wants us'. As I turned to walk away I heard what I thought was his wolf whisper 'Stay', I didn't even know it was possible to hear another person's wolf then I heard my wolf respond in a weak voice 'Your human doesn't want us'

'Please, I want to be near you' his wolf cried to mine

'I'm sorry, but if your human can't accept us then we cannot stay"

I could feel my wolfs heart breaking with every word she spoke, I knew she was saying this because she loves me but it still made me feel terrible that just because my mate doesn't want me she has to suffer too.

'I'm so sorry Accalia' I whispered lightly to her. Accalia is my wolf's name; she's the most beautiful wolf in the world and would do anything for me. I just wish I could give her Coleton's wolf; she'll be crushed without him. I then continued to walk away with my head hung low and once again heard his wolf whimper to me, silently wishing I would come back to him.

Cole's POV

I watched her walk away from me, I could feel my wolf growing weaker as she walked farther away from us. Even though I'd like to deny it with every step she took away from me my chest ached more and more. It killed me knowing that I was the reason she was in pain and though I had the urge to go run after her and kiss those beautiful pink lips and put my rough hands all over her smooth skin I suppressed the urge. I knew I didn't need her and I had a hot and willing girl right in front of me wanting my attention. I need her to get out of my head and then I'll be fine, I just need her out of my head.
