10. Make Him Beg

Kate’s POV

“Okay so after school? We can both drive to your house, drop your car off, and then take mine to the mall! We wanna conserve gas” Bethany says seeming unfazed by my reaction 

“Um, yeah I guess but do you think this could actually work?”

“Of course! Have I ever steered you wrong?”

“Well I haven’t really known you that long but I guess not”

“Exactly! So I’ll meet you in the back parking lot at 3:30 sharp. Have a good rest of the day!” she yells at me as we start to head our separate ways.

Is it bad that I’m actually excited about this?! 

Bethany’s POV

*Texting*

Bethany: Hey baby brother! I know I drove you to school today since your car is in the shop but i need you to catch a ride home with someone else! I have plans!!

Cole: You have plans? CONGRATS!!! I knew it would happen someday! :P And you know you’re only 11 months older than me right? 

Bethany: Don’t be mean! And every second counts!

Cole: haha you're so weird. I’ll catch a ride. Have fun! 

Bethany: Thanks! :D

After the last school bell rings I go find my car in the school’s parking lot and spot Kate getting into her car so I quickly jump into mine to follow her to her house.

After about ten minutes of driving we arrive at an average looking brick house and she jumps into my car so we can head to the mall! 

Kate’s POV

“I’ve never been to this mall. It’s so big!” I say in awe

“I know its pretty amazing. So where to first?”

“Hmm I don’t know. Why don’t we just walk around and see what catches my eye!”

The first store that catches my eye is Forever 21 where i find three really cute dresses and a pair of shoes then we go to Urban Outfitters, Pac Sun, Charlotte Russe, MAC, Zara, and H&M. We didn't have luck at all the stores but I did find something at most of them. As we were about to leave the mall I spotted Victoria’s Secret and quickly walked in the opposite direction.

“Hey wait! We haven’t gone to Victoria’s Secret yet!” Bethany yells to me as I turn around slowly to face her.

“yeah I’m really tired so i was thinking we could skip that for tonight” I quickly respond trying to come up with something believable.

“I’m not letting you get away, we have to go in. Come on you may not even find anything but its worth a shot”

“No I really don’t want to”

“Kate, do you wanna make this guy jealous or not”

“I do but its not like he’s gonna see my underwear and bra anyway”

“Well that may be true but pretty underwear can make a girl feel sexy and the more sexy you feel the more confident you appear. Guys love confidence.”

I knew she was right so i slowly made my way to towards the pink glowing letters that hung above the store’s open entrance. As I entered the store I was instantly bombarded by a lady in black with a measuring tape laid upon her shoulders “Hello ladies, is there anything I can help you find today?”

“No thank you but if we need anything we will certainly ask” Bethany responded as the woman walked away with a fake smile plastered on her face. 

“Ooh this is cute!” Bethany squeals as she picks up a hot pink, satin thong with tiny little bows on it.

“Um, thats not really my style”

“Okay well maybe this one” she says as she picks up a lime green pair of underwear with the words ‘spank me’ on the back.

“No” I reply with a laugh

 We went back and forth like this for a few minutes until i found the most pretty pair of panties I had ever seen. It was a light pink lace thong with just a little bit of sparkle embedded in the thread and as I looked up I found the matching bra to go with it, only the bra had a white base under the lace. 

“This is the one I want” I say with a smile

“Ahh, Kate that is so pretty! I love it! Do you not see anymore you like?”

After I look around and find a few more pairs of underwear I like we check out and arrive back home. 

“Thank you so much for coming with me” I say with a smile

“Of course, thats what friends are for!”

“Do you wanna come in and hang out for a little? It is friday and I’m gonna be bored all night anyways.”

“Yeah i would love that!”

As we walk inside I see my Dad asleep on the couch and try to be quiet but he is awoken by the shuffling of bags.
“Hey sweetheart. Sorry I must’ve fallen asleep there.” My Dad says with a sleepy voice

“It’s okay Dad. This is my new friend Bethany we were just gonna hang out for a while.”

“Oh nice to meet you Bethany. You girls have fun okay” he responds and we both nod in unison as we make our way upstairs to my bedroom.

“Okay so you have to tell me about this guy that’s been getting to you” Bethany squeaks

“Well, he isn't just any guy…” I start to say. I realize that I can trust her and even though its still embarrassing that my mate doesn't want me I need to tell someone to get this off my chest.

“He’s my mate” I continue “And he, he’s gorgeous and strong and perfect but he doesn’t… well I don't think…he doesn't want me” I look at her for any sign of surprise but there is none so I keep talking “He has another girl in his life that he likes more. But its weird because he got mad the other day when a guy came up to talk to me and the other night he promised he would make me forgive him but then he turns around and lets his slutty girlfriend, Rylie, hang all over him and it hurts! It hurts knowing that i’ll never be good enough for him!”

Bethany’s POV

“… never be good enough for him!” Kate screams as the tears in her eyes start to fall. What has my brother done to this poor girl? He’s hurt her more than I could ever imagine and I don't think he even realizes that his actions have had such an effect on her. They’ve only known each other for a few days and she already is sobbing over him.

“I’m sorry” i say without even realizing whats coming out of my mouth

“Why are you sorry its not your fault”

“Well you said that his girlfriend was Rylie right? So you must be talking about Cole” I say, pretending I don't already know.

“Yes” She says with her head down “Go ahead and make fun of me… I know he’s too good for me I mean he’s the Alpha. I would never be able to live up to the standards of what his Luna should be like…” She begins to cry again.

“Kate, I know Cole. I’ve known him for more or less his whole life and he would be crazy not to want you. You just have to show him that you are what he wants! Go to school on Monday with a new outfit, your makeup done, and all the confidence you’ve got and make him beg for you.”
