"Shit, shit, shit" Phoebe mumbled, she was late, again. "Pheobe! Hurry up Steve is here!" her mom called. Phoebe rushed to get her backpack and rushed down the flight of stairs.
"Don't forget-"
Phoebe grabbed a waffle before her mom could finish "Love you, bye!" she kissed her cheek and left. She saw Steve already at the front gate with the door already opened "you're late"
"Yes, I know!" Phoebe snapped. "You know you have powers right?" Steve said getting in the car "you can just pop in and out of places" he continued turning on the car and driving.
"You know I can't unless you want me to be experimented on and lose all my rights as an American" Phoebe answered sarcastically "someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed" Steve muttered.
"What?"
"Nothing!"
The car stopped, they'd arrived at school, more like a prison. It was practically torture. Spending hours in one place listening to something we won't use in life.
"Remember Steve be good and don't do anything I would do and definitely don't do anything I wouldn't do!" Phoebe says to Steve, Steve rolls his eyes as
Nancy chuckles.
Phoebe loved Nancy. When she met her for the first
time she instantly liked her, she was what Steve needed to change his ways. They had a close bond, feeling like sisters more than friends.
Phoebe then opens the door of Steve's car, stepping out with her bag lazily on her back. She slams the door and starts walking away from the car.
As she was crossing the road to get to the middle
school, she hears a Camaro beep. Steve and Nancy seeing this jumped out of the car as the boy in the Camaro parked.
Phoebe stopped and saw two people inside the car looking at her. One boy with a mullet and one girl with fiery orange hair. That's certainly something you don't see every day, she thought.
Phoebe continues to walk to the school and into Mr. Clark's classroom. She sat down in her usual place next to Will.
"Meet the human brain, I know I know it doesn't look like much.. a little gross even, right? But consider this, there are a hundred billion cells inside this merical of evolution all working as one. No, I didn't misspeak. A hundred billion" Mr.Clark said to the unamused class just as the door slammed.
"Ah, this must be our new student." Mr.Clark smiled as Phoebe sat up more when she saw the same girl with fiery orange hair walk in.
"Indeed it is, all yours." Their principal spoke as he
walked out of the classroom.
"Alright hold up there, you don't get away that easy" Mr.Clark said as he stopped the girl who was speed walking to her desk.
"Come on up, Dustin... drum roll," Mr.Clark said as
Phoebe hit her forehead, knowing how embarrassing this was for the new girl as the boy with curls began patting on his book.
"Class, please welcome all the way from sunny California the latest passenger to join us on our curiosity voyage, Maxine." Mr.Clarke grinned as the girl quickly added in.
"It's Max" the redhead corrected him quickly which
caught the group's attention. "I'm sorry?" Mr. Clarke asked.
"No one calls me Maxine, it's Max," she said once again as the boys all shared a look but Phoebe
couldn't help but grin at the fact that she was right, like always. It was a girl that beat them at a game, not a guy.
"Well, all aboard Max." Mr.Clark grinned as Max walked to the back of the class where the boy's eyes followed her, when the four looked away Phoebe glanced over her shoulder at the red hair colored girl who meets her eyes.
Max glanced up to see if Phoebe was looking at her, when she looked back, the brunette sent her a small wave and the redhead grinned slightly and waved back subtly.

"Hey guys I have to get my sketchbook from my locker I'll meet you outside," Pheobe told them before heading to her locker and getting the most important thing to her. That book had every drawing she did in her life.
Eleven, her friend, her family even Steve, and now she will add a new person, Max. Something about Max made Phoebe drawn to her, especially with those beautiful ocean blue eyes. That's one of the things she noticed about Max.
She closed her locker and turned to meet the boys outside stalking Max. When she turns a corner she bumps straight into someone knocking her book out of her hand and someone's skateboard.
"I am so sorry" The angelic voice spoke "No no it was my fault I didn't look-" Pheobe begins to say as she finally takes a glance up to see who the beautiful voice belongs to.
"Max?" she says smiling brightly once she instantly recognized her making Max blush, "sorry I didn't see you there," She says matching Phoebe's smile.
"It was my fault really, I wasn't watching where I
was going" Phoebe continues to say as they both crouch down to start picking up the book. Phoebe goes to pick up the book, when Max had reached for it as well, causing both to brush their hands against each other, making both of them blush at the contact.
"Oh, I wasn't either...sorry I didn't get your name," Max asks her "sorry, I'm Penelope but everyone calls me Phoebe"
"Nice to meet you, Phoebe, I'm Max but you already knew that," Max said with a cringe on her face as Phoebe laughed.
"Right, welcome the latest passenger to join us on our curiosity voyage, Maxine!" Phoebe said dramatically, intimidating Mr. Clark as she looked at her.
Max laughed and that made Phoebe laugh as well. god, that was a beautiful sound. Phoebe thought Max's laugh was like no other, it lit up the room in seconds.
"C'mon, no one gave me a tour of this dump school yet and I need to find somewhere to skip without being caught." Max said as she pulled Phoebe along with her, "Well, it's a good thing you met me," She said.
