The Youngest Shelby Sister

Chapter 2

Alice's Pov:

I was upstairs in my uncle's house hiding under the bed "Alice, Alice or should I say Tommy's noble little princess..." He whispered, when he walked in my room and made direct eye contact with me under the bed "Or should I say DEAD Tommy's noble little princess. Come out if you're so noble Alice!" My name rolled off his tongue. He dragged me out from under the bed and pushed me against the wall as he kicked me in the stomach multiple times. "YOU KILLED MY SISTER! YOUR OWN MOTHER! YOU'RE A SELFISH LITTLE BRAT!" I screamed in pain "Are you feeling the pain, little princess? you aren't noble you're a coward!" he proceeded to kick me over and over saying the same line "Tommy isn't here to help you anymore Alice." I continued screaming when I started to hear Tommy's voice but it was muffled "ALICE! Come on love, wake up, ALICE!" I sat up so fast it made me dizzy I saw Tommy sat beside me "Are you OK? Please tell me what's been going on?" he questioned, I couldn't tell him what had happened so I just replied with "Just been really tired is all and it was only a nightmare." He looked at me confused and looked at me as if I was suspicious "Is that all love?" He made eye contact with me "Oh and I've developed a fear of thunder." I laughed as he laughed he went to give me a hug but I pulled away "I'm not a massive fan of hugs anymore I changed a lot when you were gone." I smiled at him as he nodded he walked to the door and said "Goodnight my noble little princess." I laid my head back on my bed and let sleep consume me.

Morning had arrived and I couldn't bare to see anyone in the house when I saw Finn "Morning Finny sleep well?" I questioned he glanced at me and I could tell he knew about what happened last night "I slept better than you. Why don't you tell Tommy? Your dreams could stop just tell him please." He tried to convince me to tell someone. Finn was and is the only person who knows about what happened for those two years aunt Pol still doesn't know anyone but Finn can't know. I am wondering if Ada should know maybe I should tell her today we're going out together.

I heard the door slam, it made me jump I wasn't expecting it "Where's my favourite sister? Alice!" She shouted my name I was so happy she was here I haven't seen her in weeks I couldn't wait to spend some time with her I walked towards the kitchen door it was shut it's never shut I put my ear to the door when I heard Tommy " Oi, listen Ada something has happened whilst we were at war I don't know what can you find out for me. Please Ada I can't let anything happen to her alright." I couldn't believe what I heard he doesn't trust me with what I told him even though it was a lie. I walked through "ADA! You're finally here!" I screamed with excitement everyone in the room laughed I looked at Finn when he gave me a look as to say 'tell Ada what happened'.

Me and Ada had been walking around for a while when I decided to tell her "Ada, I have to tell you something." I started and she nodded "I knew something was up, even Tommy thinks something is going on." I sat down at a nearby bench and she followed "well after a year of Tommy and our brothers went to war aunt Pol was so tired she thought it best to send us to our uncles..." She smiled I didn't want to tell her the full thing as she would go and tell Tommy. "Well George he...he would always say I killed mother that I'm not noble, that I'm a coward and that Tommy was dead sometimes he would even push me and hit me in the stomach it was always at night and I've been having nightmares ever since and thunder just reminds me of him coming up the stairs drunk." I was rambling on so much I didn't even realise I told her the whole story she looked at me with sympathy "Alice...why didn't you tell Tommy? Did anyone know about this?" I looked at her as if she was mad why would I tell anyone? "Finn knows he would wake up whilst it was happening he didn't know what to do he was only 8 or 9 when it was going on and you can't tell Tommy, promise me." She shook her head as we got up and walked around before she answered "Fine, I won't tell him I promise pinky promise" she knew I lived by pinky promises.

Ada's Pov:

My dear sister was getting hurt as our brothers were at war she was in her own war with a family member. "Fine, I won't tell him I promise, pinky promise." I smiled at her as I knew she lived by pinky promises. We reached home after a while "Hello everyone!" She shouted she was so brave. She walked into the living room as Tommy went to give her a hug she flinched at him and ran straight upstairs she was ashamed of what had happened to her but why? "Ada oi, what did you find out?" I glanced towards the stairs as I hesitated to tell him. I had to tell him something. I thought I would tell him the entire story and I did. "Our uncle, George abused her for two years when he was drunk. Blame mother's death on her. Thunder reminds her of him walking up the stairs drunk. I pinky swore not to tell you." He looked at me as if I was mental; I'm not surprised.

Tommy's Pov:

I was in my room when I heard screaming and crying coming from Alice's room. I jumped from my bed and slammed the door open she was having a nightmare I must have been there 15 minutes trying to wake up when she jolted up. I sat beside her "Are you OK? Please tell me what's been going on?" I questioned, all she replied with was "just been really tired lately and it was just a nightmare." I looked at her and was confused it must've looked like my suspicious look because she gave me a funny look. "Is that all love?" I asked making eye contact with her as I was about to leave "Oh and I've developed a fear of thunder." She laughed as I joined in I went to give her a hug but she flinched I took a step back "I'm not a massive fan of hugs anymore. I changed a lot when you were gone." She smiled as I nodded and walked away. "Goodnight my noble little princess." I watched as she laid her head  back and let sleep consume her. Something was definitely wrong.

Morning had arrived and so had Ava I know she would be able to figure it out "Ava come in 'ere a second." I stated she looked at me mad "Oh come on who died this time?" She questioned I rolled my eyes as she came in the kitchen I closed the door and she looked at me confused. "Alright what's goin' on?" She asked, I knew it would take some convincing. "Somethings going on with Alice..." I started "Forget it Tommy. I love her she's the only sister I've got so no I'm not getting information off her!" She quietly shouted, I rolled my eyes again "Oi, listen Ada something has happened whilst we were at war I don't know what, can you find out for me. Please Ada I can't let anything happen to her alright." She looked at me with sympathetic eyes "Fine, but you owe me Tommy Shelby."

A few hours had passed and I started to worry when I heard the door shut "Hello everyone!" She shouted she was so energetic.  She walked into the living room, I went to give her a hug but she flinched at me and ran straight upstairs I looked at Ada as she was about to leave "Ada oi, what did you find out?" She hesitated to tell me she obviously made a promise. She began to tell me the entire story, "Our uncle, George abused her for two years when he was drunk. Blamed mother's death on her. Thunder reminds her of him walking up the stairs drunk. I pinky swore not to tell you." I looked at her as if she were mad; why would she promise not to tell me something like this?
