Chapter 5

Alice's Pov:

Today was a day for new beginnings. I am finally going to start school after a while. I couldn't wait unfortunately Finn wouldn't be in my class but that was okay. I headed downstairs, grabbed an apple and met Tommy outside by his car "Remember Alice, you are a Shelby hold your head high and don't take shit from anyone okay?" I nodded as I climbed into the car.

We had arrived, he got out and walked me to the entrance "Here we are. I'll pick you up after school at the same spot...alright?" I nodded quickly as he watched me walk into the school. Everything was going well until registration came along "Miss Alice Shelby." My teacher called out my name, when people started whispering about the Peaky Blinders "Here miss." I called out when everyone turned to face me, it felt awful but I had to keep my head up high. Come one Alice get it together you are a Shelby after all. "Everyone as you probably would be able to tell we have a new student. Miss Alice Shelby. Now I want you all to giver her a warm welcome." SHe stated, when someone shouted something out that almost ruined my confidence "Her brother is Thomas Shelby. Leader of the Peaky Blinders she'll get us all killed. Why are you allowing killers in this school miss Johnson?" The teacher was very angry you could tell. "FRANKIE! We do not tolerate outbursts like this in this school! Headteachers office now...NOW!" It made me feel a little better but everyone was still staring at me.

After school I went to the meeting point that Tommy and I agreed on, when a young girl walked over "Hi you're the new girl in my class right?" I turned and nodded, I didn't really want to talk to anyone after this morning. "My name is Lilly and I thought you probably don't have any friends so...Would you like to be my friend?" She questioned, my eyes lit up and I nodded as fast as my head could nod "Yes...Yes absolutely." When a car pulled up, it was Tommy at least I thought it was Tommy...but it wasn't Tommy at all. "Alice?" he asked me as I nodded cautiously as he sighed thankfully. "Thank god, I am part of the Peaky Blinders Tommy told me to pick you up," This was very strange but he said he was part of the Peaky Blinders so I guess Tommy was just too busy. I climbed into the car as he sped off "What is your name?" I asked him, trying to start the conversation "My name is Billy...Billy Kimber." He stated and before I could realise who it was I was knocked unconscious.
