"Honey!" My mother called, "time to go!" I slowly got up out of my desk chair and looked at the picture I'd been sketching. I was trying to make a self portrait but it wasn't coming out good. I walked over to my bed, grabbed my bag with all of my clothes and walked downstairs. Today was the day of the Jorno family reunion. Every year at this time we went to the ocean for a get-together. The beach I thought. So many accidents involving water had happened to me it was getting old.
In first grade, every kid in the class's water bottle had exploded and all the water came straight toward me and I was soaked. But that was my daily routine so it was normal now.
I walked out my front door and hopped into my SUV along with my four other siblings. There was Jessica, my oldest sister who wanted nothing to do with me or her other siblings she was a typical teenager. Then there was James who was an overly hyper seven year old who loved Legos and the usual children toys. Then there were my twin three year old brothers Jack and Ron, who were the most intelligent toddlers ever, they'd be able to figure out our personalities and get out of trouble with my parents. Finally there was me, Jenny but everyone called me Jen. I'm thirteen and I'm not anything special. I have long blonde hair, I'm pretty scrawny and I'm not the most popular girl. Everyone knows me for my art, I live to draw and I've won a lot of contests doing what I love.
"Everyone ready?" My dad asked as he got into the car.
"Yup!" James said.
"Okay then," my mom said as she buckled up the twins. "We're off!" My dad yelled as he started the car and screeched out of the driveway.
