Cole
I fucking hate Mondays, the only reason I go to school is so my dad can't look down on me like he always does, even though he's living on the other side of the world I can't get away from him.
As I'm walking into class I hear the constant talking and giggling I always hear in English on Monday morning, Arabella Jacobs, she's always so irritably happy with a stupid fake smile on her face the whole time. It seems impossible for anyone to be that friendly to everyone, even when people aren't nice to her she never bats an eye at it. She's quiet and shy but everyone loves her. I don't get it.
Just in time to stop the constant talking mrs Scott come his and addresses the class, "Ok class settle down, so this semester I'm going to pair you all up, this is not only for group projects but so you have someone to help you achieve your goals, think of it as a team."
Great just what I need.
Arabella
My heads fucking killing today my car broke down again last night and I was left walking home in the freezing cold rain at 11 o'clock at night after work last night, I had to pick up an extra shift because one of our windows got smashed in and I have to pay for the repairs.
To cheer me up Ethan's reminding me about the the time me him and Paige won tickets to a new theme park and it ended up being two swing sets and a mini roller coaster in someone's back garden.
When the teacher announces that we'll be partnered up this semester my heart sinks, I can't have people relying on me especially when it might risk their future grades, I have enough to worry about.
"Arabella, sweetheart, your with Cole" the 30-year-old says in a happy voice as if she hasn't just paired me with the most arrogant dickhead in the world.
"So go and sit with your partners and then we'll discuss your first assignment"
Reluctantly I stand up and sit next to Cole.
"So you have two weeks to make a presentation and write a report on a price of literature which depicts relationships, I don't care what kind of relationships as long as it's well detailed and you work together. I'll give you the rest of the period to go to the library and discuss it".
Neither of us make an effort to move until Ethan comes up next to me.
"Bella this is usually the part where you stand up talk to each other and work"
"Fuck off" I say quietly whilst pushing him away, I take a piece of paper and write my phone number on it and rip the small section from it, " there's my number, message me to set up a time to work" before giving him a chance to respond with his usual emotionless grunt, I walk away to get homework done whilst I can.
