We were now back in the room, and I was taking a shower since I got sweaty from going to the gym after teaching Tyler how to bat.
Once I finished, I turned the shower off, stepped off and wrapped a towel around my waist to dry off while I choose an outfit for dinner.
Once I choose an outfit, I wanted to check in on mom, so I walked out of the bathroom wearing a robe and saw my mom looking in the mirror with a beautiful black dress, I smiled while leaning on the doorframe.
“You look amazing mom.” I said getting her attention, she turned around and smiled at me. “I’m not too sure honey.” She said turning around looking at herself in the mirror, I walked closer and put my hands on her shoulder to turn her around and face me.
“Mom, you do so much for us, you need to feel good sometimes too” and with that I left the room to let her think.

After changing, I was a little late, so I rushed out the door and saw that my mom was still in the bathroom, so I assumed that she was getting ready.
I went out of the room and made my way to where the dinner was held, when I got to the top of the stairs, I saw that there were a lot of people here tonight. Beautiful lights danced around the room, I looked down from the stairwell and saw that everyone was already there except for mom as she was still in the room.
I smiled as I saw that Jake was there looking around, I chuckled before I started to walk down the stairs and walk towards everyone.
I eventually made it to my table and everyone turned and saw me standing there smiling.
Jake’s POV:
I was talking to everyone at the table which included: Jim, his girls, Laruen’s younger sons, Ginger and my dad, when all of a sudden, I heard the chair next to me get pulled out and someone sitting in it.
I turned to my right and saw that it was Daniel, he looks so handsome in a suit. Though I realized I’ve been staring too much as Hillary, who sat next to me, nudge my arm and snorted.
I quickly looked away embarrassed, though I heard Daniel snickering before he pulled my hand to his lips and kissed my knuckles, which made my face go red.
“You look gorgeous tonight cutie” He said making me giggle and gently pulling my hand away from him, “You don’t look bad yourself Daniel” I chuckled before Daniel held my hand again, but this time holding it on his lap.
“Dad, did you comb your hair?” Hillary asked making me and Daniel laugh, I love his laugh, it was so genuine. “No, I got out of the shower like this I guess” He said not fooling anyone, “You took a shower?” Espn asked.
“I shower, I’m allowed to shower, god” “I haven’t taken a shower since we got here” My dad says to Ginger, though Daniel and I heard it, “I know, you stink, and I love it” she replied making me and Daniel groan in disgust.
“Yeah, I stink bad” Eddie says to Ginger, “Yeah you stink real bad, your breath smells terrible” Ginger said making everyone groan in disgust again.
“Where’s Lauren?” Lou asked, though before Daniel could answer we see Lauren walking down the stairs with a lovely black dress on that made her look great.
“Holy shit! My mom’s looking gorgeous!” Daniel shouted with a smile, “Helloo” Lauren said sitting down. “Dad, say something to her” Lou whispered, “Yes, yes, you look very nice” Jim said while looking at Lauren. “Oh, well thank you.
You showered” “Am I really known as the non-shower guy, I shower all the time guys” just then a loud speaker came on.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s the final night of our blended family experience here in Africa” as everyone booed me and Daniel looked at each other.
“Our tradition is t invite the kiddies to our pool area for our kids only safari buffet and 10 foot chocolate rainforest mountain.”
“Can we go dad?” Lou asked with pleading eyes. “Alright go ahead” I looked over at Daniel and took his large hand in mine and lead the way.
Laruen’s POV:
“They’re so perfect for each other” Ginger said while looking at Daniel and Jake who were holding hands, laughing, chatting, and eating each other’s food.
“They really are, you know, I never really thought Jakey would get with someone, let alone someone like him” Eddie said making us all laugh.
“I’m really, really happy it’s Jake, Jake makes Daniel happy and everyone can see that.” I replied, speaking from my heart smiling at my oldest child and the person who makes him happy.
I just know that the rest of this trip will be good even if it’s the last night.
