"Do you hear that? Listen." Said 12 year old Mike Wheeler in a intense voice. 4/5 party members sat in his basement on a Sunday night playing their usual game of Dungeons and Dragons.
"Something is coming...Something hungry for blood." Mike continued. "A shadow grows on the wall behind you... swallowing you in darkness... it is almost here."
The other three boys, Will, Dustin and Lucas all age 12 lean forward.
"What is it?" Will asks.
"What if it's the demogorgon? We're in deep shit if it's the demogorgon." Dustin said, worriedly.
"It's not the Demogorgon." Lucas dismissed.
Mike waited for them to settle down.
"An army of Troglodytes charge into the chamber!" He said and slams six winged miniature'onto the map.
"Their tails drum the floor. Boom! Boom! Boom!" He continued, slamming his hands on the table.
"Troglodytes?!" Dustin questioned.
"Told ya." Lucas scoffed.
Mike looked over his shoulder. His eyes grew wide.
"Wait... do you hear that? Boom! Boom! BOOM! That sound... it didn't come from the Troglodytes. No. It came from something else..." he said.
Mike then slammed a two-headed monster onto the map.
"The Demogorgan!" He announced.
The boys stare and groan.
"We're in deep shit." Dustin muttered.
"Will, your action." Mike said.
Will swallows. God, he wishes it wasn't his turn. "I—don't know." he stuttered.
"Fireball him." Lucas said.
"I'd have to roll 13 or higher." Will said anxiously.
"Too risky. Cast protection." Dustin told Will.
"Don't be a pussy! Fire ball him." Lucas said agitatedly.
"Protection spell—" Dustin went to argue but was cut off by Mike.
"The Demogorgon is tired of your silly human bickering. It stomps toward you. BOOM!" He said, meaning the demogorgon was getting closer therefore Will's time was running out.
