The wind howls softly
As the breeze blows the trees
Making them do a little dance in the cool air
Leaves swirl up and down the path
And every now and then you can hear them crunch...
Freshly dead from the cold weather
If you listen quietly the soft wind speaks
But only for you to hear
It whispers quietly
For you to come and play
But winter is near
The wind begs for you, for a friend
Someone it can dance around
And take their breath away
For someone to play
It's tired of being lonely
But no one likes the cold
Come play you hear the whispers
I need the company
I hate this silence
The only one talking is me
Everyone's tired of hearing my howling
And honestly so am I
I miss the laughter of children
And the happiness of people enjoying the warmth
So come and play with me
Your heart gives in and you decide to answer the pleas
Outside you walk
The wind instantly taking your breath away
A small smile appears
Even though you hate the cold
Your heart warms at the beautiful sounds
The singing of the wind
The crushing of the leaves beneath its feet
And the smell of the crisp air
