Chapter 3 sharing stories

Donnie's pov
I looked into her eyes and saw tears I couldn't help myself, it was like a reflex. I hugged her and stroked her hair, whispering it's ok i'm here I won't let them hurt you. She looked up at me and smiled. "Can you stay with me tonight?" She said sheepishly. I smiled and nodded. "we could talk until you fall asleep if that's what you want." I said in an almost pleading way. she nodded " so what's it like being a turtle?" She questioned. "Quite lonely actually, but that is my opinion. I mean I have my brothers so I'm not alone, but sometimes I just feel so different around them like I'm the one nobody needs or gets they need me for my brain and they love me they really do, but it's different." I found the way I was venting to this girl who I just met not more then a few hours ago slightly odd. she hugged me tightly and spoke these word I might never forget "I know the feeling, like when your in a room filled with people but feel so alone you wanna cry, I get that feeling a lot since there's nobody I actually hang out with." I smile she was an amazement. I got along with her quite well also. she spoke again trying to shift the mood in the room" so do you like poetry?" She questioned. I chuckled " I write poetry more then anyone I know, which to think about that is limited so in short terms yes, do you?" I asked. "yes" she responded gleefully. She yawned and rested her head on my chest. "I will tell you one of my favorite poems in the morning" she said before nodding off. my face by this time was like a cherry then I got use to it, I couldn't so I put a pillow under her and began writing some thing I did rarely now a days but I couldn't help it.
