𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐄𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐒 and dustin, looking down at the compass in her hand. she had on one of steve's jean jackets with a crew neck underneath, paired with some black jeans and a pair of converse. mike and eleven was behind her, talking amongst themselves. the group of five were walking on some train tracks that was in the middle of the woods, following the compasses to where "north" was. every now and then, arlo would look up from her compass and at the scenery, a small smile appearing on her features. all of the leaves had fallen from the trees, but it still looked beautiful to her.
"how much longer?" lucas questioned from besides dustin, making arlo look at the two boys.
"i don't know. these only tell the direction, not distance." dustin answered, making arlo smile slightly. this earned him a look from lucas. "you really need to learn more about compasses."
"i'm just saying. how do we know when we get to the gate?" lucas reasoned, making arlo silently agree with him. he did have a point there.
"uh, i think a portal to another dimension is gonna be pretty obvious." dustin shot back sarcastically.
