𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐔𝐃𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎 the land of reality, shooting up from her pillow as she gasped. she felt arms wrapped around her body, the girl immediately started screaming, thinking that she was being taken. the arms only grabbed onto her tighter, trying to calm her down. she didn't even hear the voice that was trying to soothe her until he pushed her head into his chest.
"hey, hey. it's me, lo. it's steve." the older harrington told her as he held her close, a look of worry on his face as his sister continued to fight him. "arlo! arlo, it's me! it's me!"
arlo stopped fighting when she had heard steve's voice, melting into him as she started to cry into his chest. steve started to whisper smooth nothings into her ear to help her calm down, feeling bad that his sister had to go through this. that she's been going through this for a year now. they were told that the nightmares should go away as time went on, but they didn't. they only got worse. they went from nightmares to night terrors, the girl having to scream herself awake whenever the dream got too bad. arlo barely remembered what her nightmares were about, but lately, she's been remembering this shadow monster in the sky. she didn't know what it was, but she knew that it wasn't good.
