We all stood, lined up by the counsellors. Kurt walked down the line, glaring at each of us. Nick stood back slightly, his eyes darting between me, Cole and Will. "Okay, what happened here?" Kurt demanded, still pacing back and forth. "I went back to my cabin, the door was open. All my money was gone and Ziggy was just sprinting away." Shiela spoke up immediately, her tone completely different from when she was yelling earlier. "Because you were chasing me." Ziggy shot back. "Ziggy! You talk when I tell you to talk." Kurt stated. Ziggy rolled her eyes and shifted her weight back and forth on her legs.
"Did you see her take it?" Nick asked Shiela. "Everyone did." Will told him.
"Everyone." Shiela's goons spoke up. Nick glanced at me and Cole, who hadn't spoken yet. "You two see it?" He asked us. We shook our heads no. "Just got here, was trying to read then these idiots strung Ziggy up and Shiela burnt her with a lighter." I explained. "She did what?" Nick demanded, they hadn't seen that part."Can I?" I whispered to Ziggy. She gave me a confused look but nodded. I held up the redhead's arm, showing the burn mark. "That's why I punched Shiela." I told him, knowing I would get in trouble for that. "And she um- said something else, I'll tell you later though." Cole added quietly. Nick gave him a small nod. "Alright! Well that's it, Berman. Five strikes. Your out." Kurt concluded. "I'm out? They just tried to murder me!" Ziggy exclaimed in surprise. "Yeah. And I'll deal with them. But first, to back to camp, call mommy because you're done at Nightwing." Kurt shrugged.
I snorted at his reply, of course he would favour the sunnyvalers. "And Chloe that's a strike for punching Shiela." Kurt turned his attention to me, clearly annoyed by the sound I had made. "Yeah, fuck you too." I mumbled.
"What was that?" Kurt stepped forward, glaring at me. Cole stepped slightly in front of me. Despite being younger (and even slightly younger than me), Cole towered over Kurt. He stepped back with a huff."Kurt. It's not their fault, really. They're possessed by Sarah Fier." Shiela sneered. "Oh you..." Ziggy lunged forwards, Nick stepped in and grabbed her arms. "Hey! Hey! hey!" Kurt stepped forward slightly, eyes burning hatred into the redhead. "Look; we kick her out, somebody's gonna ask about the burn on her arm. Then who's in trouble? Huh?" Nick panted, stumbling slightly as he held Ziggy back. "Why don't we just let this one slide? Yeah?"
Kurt paused to think before answering. "Alright. One more strike and you're out for real. You hear me, Berman?" Kurt threatened. "One more." He spoke, holding one finger up for Ziggy to see. Ziggy wrestled out of Nick's grasp. "Being bossed about by a Goode. Wow, some things never change." She spat, starting to walk away. "God I hate that little bitch." Kurt sighed.
I glared at Sheila and walked over to her while Kurt's back was turned. "Watch yourself, slut." I whispered to her, following where Ziggy and Nick had walked off. We walked through the forest, me and Cole slightly behind the other two, just about hearing their conversation. "You should probably have Nurse Lane check that burn out." Nick told Ziggy, pulling up her arm to check out the burn again. "No, I think I'm gonna let it get infected and die." Ziggy retorted. "What I don't get a thank you?" Nick laughed. "Oh! I'm sorry, I forgot! Thank you, King of Sunnyvale, future Police Chief Nick Goode, for rescuing poor, helpless Shadysider me! How could I ever repay you? Oh, I know! I'll just bat my eyes at you like all the other dumbass girls." Ziggy replied sarcastically.
She spotted me and Cole. "What? You two want a thank you too?" She questioned. "The world's not about you, yanno? Camps here, we're campers." Cole raised a brow at her. "No I didn't expect a thank you from you, though it would be nice seeing as though I saved you from being burnt by Shiela. I could of stood back and watched like my dumbass brother." I shrugged. I pushed past Ziggy and entered the main part of camp.
I went up to my cabin and dropped off my book, no longer in the mood to read. I looked over at Ziggy's bunk, hopefully it wasn't awkward when I saw her again. I looked at my guitar which was leaning against my bunk. I never really played it in camp, especially since Ziggy liked to complain every time I did so. No one was here now so I picked it up and sat down on my bunk. I gently strummed the strings and hummed softly to myself. I loved playing guitar, it was peaceful, helped calm me down. I played it every time there was an argument at home, or after Elizabeth was done getting annoyed at my existence.
I zoned out slightly, playing the guitar for an amount of time I had been too out of it to track. I was pulled out of my trance-like state from sirens entering camp. I put the guitar down and exited the cabin. I frowned, seeing an ambulance and a couple cop cars. I saw Cindy Berman and Tommy Slater being interviewed by the police and- Nurse Lane? Being taken into a cop car. I spotted Ziggy off to the side and walked over to her.
"What happened here, red?" I questioned.
"I thought you hated me? You wanna talk now? And don't call me that." She ignored my question. "Right, sorry, freckles- and I don't hate you, I just find you irritating sometimes. Plus you had to go to Nurse Lane for that burn so I'm guessing you were the last to see her?" I replied, noticing the gauze on her arm. Ziggy looked up at me. "Yeah I did, I left and then a few minutes later here we are, apparently she attacked Tommy Slater." She told me. "That's not like her? She seem off to you?" I questioned."A little bit, I dunno she didn't seem fully there?" Ziggy shrugged. I just nodded, frowning to myself. "Right, well thanks, and sorry about being bitchy earlier." I apologised. "Alright." Ziggy nodded. I stood still for a second then walked away. I don't know what I expected? A thank you? I just rolled my eyes and started looking around. Where was Cole?
