PROLOGUE
LANA'S POV
"Okay everyone finish unpacking so we can all head over to the Fisher's so we'll be there when Laurel and the kids arrive." my mom yelled from downstairs
"Okay mom, I'm almost done anyways." I yelled back as I finished putting clothes in the dresser drawer
Currently me, my mom, my twin brother Roman, my little sister Saige, and my best friend who is like a sister to me Maeve are all at our family beach house in cousins for the summer. Maeve has been coming with us ever since she was 3 after her parents passed. I mean she's now an official member of the Codwell family even if she doesn't have our last name.
The only thing that makes her different from us is that she's had a crush on my twin brother since as long as I could remember. It doesn't bother me though I mean I think they'd be the cutest couple ever.
"Lana I just finished packing are you ready to head over to the Fisher's?" Maeve asked me as she came in and sat on my bed
"Yes I have my bag with my bathing suit, phone charger, and extra clothes in it. I already have a towel at the Fisher's. So let's go before I start putting more stuff in this bag." I told Maeve as I grabbed my phone and pulled her off my bed walking out of my room
Me and Maeve walked downstairs where I saw Saige sitting on the couch using her phone. My twin on the other hand was eating a bag of chips. Me and Maeve walked over to the couch each sitting on one side of Saige.
"Hey Lana and Maeve, you guys ready?" Saige asked us as she looked at both of us
"Yea we're ready." Maeve said and I nodded my head in agreement
"MOM..... Maeve and Lana are downstairs now so we can go." Roman yelled to my mom who instantly came running out of her room
"Okay everyone let's go all of you get in the car." My mom said as she grabbed her keys
Me, Saige, and Maeve all got off the couch and walked out the front door. We let Saige sit in the front seat this time and the rest of us sat in the back. My mom got into the drivers seat closing her door and pulled out of the driveway as we made our way to the Fisher's.
10 minutes later
We made it to the Fisher's house and as soon as we got there Jeremiah and Susannah came out very quickly. My mom, Saige, and Roman instantly got out of the car.
"Someone looks sad that they don't see Conrad." Maeve joked while we were both still in the car
"Shut up and get out of the car." I said laughing
Maeve got out of the car and I right after her, and we were both instantly grabbed by Susannah who gave us a tight hug.
"Oh my gosh you girls look so different." Susannah said as she stepped back to look at us
"Well I stopped flat ironing my hair everyday." Maeve said shrugging
"And I went blonde like a month or 2 ago." I said shrugging cause I didn't know what to say
"NAI AND NESSA." Jeremiah yelled using the nicknames he always called us for some reason as he ran and hugged us both
"Hey Jere Bear." I said to him as I hugged him back
"Sup little fisher." Maeve said as she gave Jeremiah a hug also
"Where's Ari?" Jeremiah asked referring to Saige
"She's over there with your mom." I said pointing
"Okay I'll catch you guys later." He said
"ARIIIII" Jeremiah yelled as he ran from us over to Saige
"He is a mess." I said to Maeve as we both started laughing
At least until I felt a tap on my shoulder, and when I turned around it was Conrad looking at me.
"Lana and Maeve?" He asked us both while looking at us confused
"That would be us, nice to see you Con." Maeve said as she patted his shoulder and walked over to where everyone else was
"Wow Lana you look so different." Conrad said
"Thanks Connie so do you." I said as I gave him a slight smile
It was a few seconds of staring and awkward silence between the two of us before Conrad instantly picked me up and hugged me tight.
"I've missed you a lot Lana you don't understand." Conrad whispered in my ear right before he put me down
"I've missed you too. But if we're being honest you know Connie you're the person I would've least expected to be this happy to see me if we're being honest." I told him as I looked at him with a smile trying to hide my shock that he was this happy to see me
"As much as I hate to admit it I don't think I could've imagined myself not being this happy to see you." Conrad said as he smiled at me widely
"Good to know, but how about WE ALL GO INSIDE AND WAIT FOR EVERYONE ELSE TO GET HERE." I said yelling the last part so everyone else could hear me
"Okay well you heard her everyone let's go inside and wait." Susannah said
With that we all quickly hurried and went inside to wait for them.
