In the days that followed, Kai and Cole both expected the police to knock on their door. But as it did not happen, slowly they started to relax. The ninja slipped into their regime of training and ran to the city to help faster than they had expected. And for a few days, things turned to normal. But then their food ran out again.

Jay was waiting at the supermarket they saved yesterday. Like usual, they practically had to beg for food and the answer, like always had been no. Jay wondered why they even bothered. The people of Ninjago only wanted them for their protection.

It reminded him of high school.

His so-called friends leaching off him for money, homework, and tech. He gave it to them, hoping it would make them his friends. In reality, they had been using him, and they dropped him the moment they no longer need him. It still made him angry. He hated being used like that. The cocky smile of the shop owner had him riling. He could feel the electricity in his fingers.

He only learned what real friendship was with the guys. He did not constantly have to give and give.

He could /take/ receive sometimes.

He looked at the clock. What was taking them so long?

He had been so frustrated. But then Cole had broken the register, and the two went to the back with the store owner. A weird smell of bacon filled the air.

Suddenly the room burst open and the store owner almost ran back in. Panic was clearly on his face. Jay jumped up in reflex ready to fight. The owner looked at him and stepped back in shock. "You.. can take your groceries. On the house. Your friends are... out in the back." The man stuttered.

Wait... what?

"Uhm... thanks?" Jay said, not waiting for the man to change his mind. He quickly grabbed the two grocery bags and walked out of the store. The street was empty and he looked around to see if he could spot his boyfriends.

"Cole? Kai?" He said a bit louder than normal.

He started walking. The shop owner said they were at the back. He turned the corner and looked at an almost familiar sight.

Cole was rutting up against Kai as the two shared the most intense kiss Jay ever saw. And for some reason, the smell of smoke hit his nose. Had Kai used his powers? He could feel the jealousy spike. He wanted to be kissed like that. But since a few days, Kai and Cole had left him out, only focussing on each other.

"Ahem!" He coughed. But the two continued as if they had not heard him. Cole's hands roamed Kai's body, almost taking off his shirt.

"Guys!!" Jay yelled. Now the two looked up. They both had a wolflike grin around their lips. "What the hell man?"

It took Cole a moment to regain himself but Kai stepped toward Jay and smiled. "Yeah... sorry...we." He did not finish his sentence. "Right. I see you got our shopping. So now we can go home."

Kai walked passed him and grabbed the bags. Cole wiped his lips as he passed, winking at Jay. "Close your piehole, mouth of lightning." He snickered.

"What happened? Did you pay for our food with a peepshow or something?" Jay huffed. Kai laughed already near the corner. "If that will get you off, Jay. Sure. I gave a peepshow. Right Cole." Cole nodded wrapping his arm around Jay.

But Jay pushed him off. Suddenly feeling a shiver down his spine as Cole touched him "No. Just... leave me alone." He said before he ran off.

He ran all the way home, hiding in his workshop. Something was wrong with him. Terribly wrong. Why was he so upset? Was it because he found his boyfriend whoring himself off? Was it because he was jealous of Cole and Kai? Or was it he expected, /hoped/  for something different. Something... darker.
