The Kim household bustled with activity. The sound of laughter echoed through the halls as Mr. and Mrs. Kim and their six eldest sons prepared for their upcoming family vacation. Suitcases were packed, itineraries were checked, and the aroma of Mrs. Kim's cooking filled the air. Yet, amid the chaos, one figure sat silently in the corner, unnoticed and unacknowledged—Jungkook, the youngest of the family.

Jungkook slowly made his way down the stairs, clutching a small sketchbook he always carried around. He approached the dining table cautiously, hoping to join his family for breakfast. His stomach growled as he eyed the food being passed around.

Jungkook (timidly): "Good morning, eomma, appa..."

Mr. Kim didn't look up from his newspaper. Mrs. Kim, busy flipping pancakes, didn't acknowledge him either. His brothers—Jin, Namjoon, Hoseok, Yoongi, Jimin, and Taehyung—chatted animatedly about the beach resort they were heading to, as if Jungkook wasn't even there.

Jimin: "I call dibs on the room with the ocean view!"

Hoseok (laughing): "Not if I get there first, Jimin-ah!"

Taehyung: "Why are we even arguing? Everyone knows hyung is getting the best room."

Jungkook shuffled closer, his voice barely audible.

Jungkook: "Can I come too? I've never seen the ocean..."

The room fell silent for a moment, but instead of an answer, Jin broke into a laugh.

Jin: "Yah, Jungkook-ah, don't be ridiculous. It's a family vacation. You'd just be a burden."

The others chuckled, and the conversation quickly shifted back to their plans. Jungkook's face fell, but he didn't protest. He was used to this treatment by now.

After breakfast, Jungkook lingered near the doorway, watching as his family packed their suitcases in the living room. He tried to help, but every time he reached out, he was brushed aside.

Namjoon (sternly): "Jungkook, don't touch that. You'll just mess things up."

Yoongi: "Yeah, go upstairs or something. We don't need your help."

Jungkook bit his lip and nodded, retreating to his room. He sat on his bed, staring at the photos on his wall—snapshots of his brothers and parents, all smiling. None of them included him.

Downstairs, the family gathered to finalize their vacation plans. Mrs. Kim glanced toward the stairs, lowering her voice.

Mrs. Kim: "What about Jungkook? We can't leave him here alone for two months."

Mr. Kim: "He'll stay with your sister, Minji. She and her husband can handle him."

Jin (snorting): "If you can call him a 'him.' Jungkook's more like a shadow. You barely notice he's around."

The others laughed, and the decision was made without further thought. Jungkook would stay behind, just like he always did.

Later that evening, Jungkook mustered the courage to approach his parents. He clutched his sketchbook tightly, the edges of the paper slightly crumpled from his nervous grip. He found them sitting in the living room, reviewing travel documents.

Jungkook: Eomma, appa, I promise I'll be good. I won't get in the way. Can I please come with you? I...I really want to see the ocean."

Mrs. Kim sighed, her tone dismissive.
