Chapter 2: Road Trip!

It felt great to be back.

Things Anne hadn't particularly loved about being in Amphibia now warmed her heart being back there: the muddy ground, the sounds of huge creatures in the distance...

Anne and Sasha finally had a week off of school, so they decided to pay Amphibia a visit.

The music box had teleported the two close to where Anne had appeared the first time they used the box, (which the girls were grateful for. They hadn't really thought about what they would have done if the box had teleported them to some random area they hadn't seen before) so they decided to head to Wartwood first.

Anne ran into the city happily, while Sasha followed behind more hesitantly.

Frogs were casually walking around the town, just like Anne remembered.

As she looked closer, she started recognizing specific faces.

"Mrs. Croaker! Hi! Wally! Sweet accordion playing! Ivy! What's up, dude!? Chuck! Still growing tulips!?"

"Anne!"

"Welcome back, Anne!"

"The sky!"

"I grow tulips."

"And Sasha's back too!" Ivy exclaimed. She waved, "Yo."

"Yo," Sasha waved back, clearly grateful someone had greeted her too.

After a bit of small talk and catching up, Anne and Sasha finally headed to the Plantar farm.

Before they reached it, the two girls could already see Hop Pop, Polly, and Sprig out in the garden working. Anne couldn't help but full-on smile, teeth and everything, at just seeing them.

Anne looked over at Sasha a moment for approval. Sasha chuckled and nodded and the two girls then began running towards the farm.

"GUYS! GUYS!" Anne shouted, waving her arms.

The Plantars stuck their heads up and looked around, but when they finally realized who was calling for them, it was too late. Anne ran up and grabbed the three frogs, pulling them into a tight hug.

"Anne!" Sprig exclaimed happily.

After a minute they finally let go.

"Oh my goodness! Anne, it's so good to see you again!" Sprig yelled.

"Yeah!" Polly agreed, "We've been missing you a ton! And things are so boring around here without you! It seems like all we do nowadays are chores!"

"Polly, these chores are important and essential to keeping the farm running!" Hop Pop responded, "Plus, even with Anne here we still had to do them."

"Well yeah!" Polly exclaimed, "But Anne was helping too then and we got them done quicker, so we had more time to go on life-threatening adventures! And it doesn't help I have to do more work now that I have legs!"

"Guys! That doesn't even matter! Polly's just trying to say Anne kept things fun and exciting! And she's back!" Sprig reminded them.

"Yeah! Me and Sash have some time off of school, so we thought we could stay here for a few days! And maybe visit Sasha's toad friends too!" Anne explained, signaling over to Sasha.

That was really the first time the Plantars had noticed she was there.

"Oh! Hello, Sasha!" Hop Pop tried to be as polite as he could.

Anne sensed the Plantars still didn't fully trust Sasha, and she could tell Sasha was uncomfortable around them, but it was understandable! They'd warm up to each other eventually!
