"Somtimes things fall apart, so that better things can fall together."
THIRD POV
"Psst!" Kora hears near her.
She turns in her seat to see Elena holding up a flier for the 60's decade dance. Kora nods her head at Elena with excitement.
"I love the decade dances even if some turned to absolute shit, they can be a true experience in the beginning.
Especially one time, when I convinced a very drunk Caroline to 'accidentally' spill her drink on the teacher who gives us an overload of homework."
Elena smirks and shrugs her shoulders at Stefan. He looks away rolling his eyes, forcing the edges of his lips not to turn up.
"Hello class," Alaric sighs, as he strolles in, "What are we learning today?"
"With the decade dance, we've been covering the 60's all week." A girl in the front row answers.
"What was her name again? Danny? Dennis?"
Alarics eyebrows shoot up in fake recognition. "Right. The 60's."
A slight look of distaste washes over his face as he looks to the ground, sparing slight glances at Elena.
"The uh-" He walks towards the chalk board and begins writing. "The 60's, I wish there was something good I could say about the 60's but.."
Alaric turns around facing the students, glancing over everyone before settling on Kora, who was silently talking to Elena about what they should wear to the dance. The feeling of eyes burning into her head made her look over, only to see Alaric staring back. She smiles sweetly in return.
He stands shocked staring at her before continuing his speech, stuttering at first, "They- um.. they actually kind of sucked. Except for the Beetles of course. They made it bearable. What else was there? The Cuban missile thing, we walked on the moon. Watergate too."
Kora physically winces at his blabbering before raising her hand to save him.
He stands still and stares at Kora in absolute shock before nodding at her giving the permission to speak.
"There was the Kennedy assassination, the whole Civil Rights Act, the uh- whole ordeal with the Berlin Wall. Not to mention the creation of the greatest music of all time."
"Close." Alaric smiles at her in a way that sets off goosebumps.
"It all kind of mushes together up here. The 60's, 70's. And for your correction, the greatest music was created in the 70's."
Kora leans back in her chair before taking a sip of her coffee, "Okay, fine I stand corrected. But we can both agree that any music that's made after 1979 is bad."
