Max's roommates were going to the mall. "Max, you going?" Avery asked "Sorry, I, uh, have a place to be." "Alright, we'll go without you." Once they were gone, Max went to his room and started playing that glitched song. He warped into the object realm and continued wandering around.
"Welcome back, my friend," Ace greeted with a handshake. "I'm assuming the glitch happened to you." "It did." "Anyway, there's a lot you've missed since you were gone. There's some new guests, or in this case, old ones." Multicolor Pen walked away, and went to his room. "The poster's still there," he thought, "and so is that figure." He took out his phone and continued scrolling on the object realm's form of Twitter. "Drama, more drama, holy mother of tables what happened, here! My favorite music artist here posted a bunch of new songs. I'll take a listen," he said to himself.
He went back downstairs, and met a succulent. "I'm Aloe Vera, but you can just call me Aloe. You could say I'm an OG. You could also say I'm a newbie here," they greeted with a confident tone. "And you?" "I'm, uh, Multicolor Pen. I'm also an old member, but it seems I'm on the newer side." "Mhm, I was first here 2 years ago! A lot's changed since I was here, am I right?" An awkward silence followed, then Multicolor Pen walked away. He looked outside the window.
Rose was tending to the flowers. Backpack was doing something chaotic again. Medal was making sure he didn't die. "Just as usual," he thought. He went to the lounge, and saw Vinyl. "Hey buddy," she greeted. "It seems you're back. What gives?" "The glitch happened." Then, Max went back to the human realm.
It was about 5 in the afternoon, and the apartment was empty. "I guess they're still at that big mall. May as well start working on that project I've been putting off for a week." Max went to his room. He started drawing something on his tablet. He had a decent following online, and had started posting chapters of his webcomic. Then he heard his friends coming back. "We were there for quite some time," Hina commented. "Oh well," Avery responded. "We're on break, so it won't affect us too much."
Avery knocked on Max's door and came in. "What're you working on?" "Just a webcomic, I've been working on it these past few weeks." "Cool. Anyway, it turns out there's a nice arcade at the big mall we went to. Wanna check it out next time?" "Fine by me." She left. Max continued working, and finished the short chapter.
A few days later, Max woke up to see a strange message on his phone. "An invitation? Alright, I'll find something to wear." Then he saw it. "Wait a minute. How did the objects communicate to my real-world phone? That place is surreal," he said to himself. He teleported back into the object realm and asked Orchid what it was about.
"Oh, you mean that invitation. Ribbon's birthday is coming up, she just felt like doing that. I don't see why, but I'll let her have her way. After all, she's the birthday girl!" "Okay, but how did it get through to the real world? I have none of your numbers saved to my contacts." "Honestly, I don't know. I meant to send it to your object realm phone, but I guess they share a number." He was still confused, but didn't bother stretching this out. He walked away and went to the living room. However, something was happening that he'd never expect from a place as calm as this.
