The Ga'Yorth Inn was packed with angry men and women drinking ale and screaming their grievances across the room about the Charter.

Prinnie and Myvea walk into the Inn waving at a few people they recognise before they found a table at the back. The Inn owner, old man Wysby, started to pour another ale and magically delivered it to them on an old wooden tray. Prinnie clicks her fingers twice and gold for the ale presented appears next to Wysby.

The Inn has reached full capacity and still the raucous sounds of the men and women still carry long and through the night. Prinnie winks at all of them letting her magic out, showing it in her eyes before her smile widens and she nods.

The Inn gets quiet for a moment and an older, rotund man, Jakeb, stands in the centre of the room on a foot stool.

"Quiet down, quiet!" his sharp voice booms out. He nods at Prinnie for making his voice reach and continues.

"Now, since Prinnie and Myvea's boy have given the 'good ole gold' and the bloody Charter have left we can finally talk now about what to do about 'em."

The crowd nods, some murmuring their agreement.

"We should've killed 'em while we had the chance. You know they will be back with more men. It's just a matter of time!"

A younger man, Gale, spoke up, who had just recently wed his wife, Lydia, who to Jakebs' keen eye, was several months pregnant; he didn't appreciate the interruption and glares at the man.

"Kill 'em? Boy, you would not have lived another day to watch your poor wife grow another inch." Jakeb gestured with his hands around his own belly trying to lighten the mood, but his efforts fall on deaf ears.

"There isn't anything we can do but wait for them to come." Another chimed in.

"And kick out all magic uses from town to some place safe." A woman added.

Jakeb nodded. The more they talked, the more he listened and could formulate a plan. He looked squarely at Prinnie and Myvea but none of them seemed to want to speak just yet. If they were to have a chance of surviving the Charter fully whole and intact, they would need their most powerful magic wielders at their side.

"Prinnie? Anything to add?" Jakeb waved to encompass the room.

Prinnie drank deep and shook her head as she brought the large cup down to the table. "Nope! You seem to have it all under control, Jakeb."

That was laughable. He didn't have it under control. He was letting the towns people lead the conversation. She knew it, he knew it. Even Myvea, who hardly spoke to the townspeople knew it. Prinnie paused. Her hand started to shake so profusely that her drink spilled and her cup smashed all over the table.

She felt herself go quiet, cold and waited. The wily, white wisp of a wolf enter the Inn, quick and cold. The Inn quickly got quiet. Prinnie stood and looked as the wolf ran all over the room checking each person before it stopped in the centre of the room and howled. As it lowered its head, its eyes burned a cold, ice blue before they changed to the colour of Rafael's.

"The Charter have left the outskirts of town. I have left myself since its been cleared to do so. My magic will only hold out until I return. The Charter will return. I don't know what they plan, but they have gone to seek outside help from other members. Don't make any plans that will get you killed. All magic uses must leave this place for a safer one. When I find it, I will come home."

Rafael's voice filled the room in that strange purity that was magic. All felt his power in his voice alone. He took a chance showing how powerful he already was with this one gesture. Prinnie couldn't help but be proud and wanted to box his ears at the same time.

But it was time to fight against the Charter and their wicked, corrupt ways. So she smiled, and played like nothing was wrong. They would have to lock down the farm and trust the magic to watch over the livestock and the lands. Prinnie knew her nephew would never let the animals starve. He would find a way.

The Inn settled with family deciding to go home to bed. Some men lingered over another cup of ale thinking that they may as well drink while they still had the chance.

Myvea took his wife's hand, his lips forming one grim line.

"Where do we go?"

Prinnie kissed the worry from his lips and smiled at him. The worry didn't disappear but she noticed the corner of his mouth tilt up slightly. Her smiled widened.

"I don't know. But Rafe will not fail us."

They would teach any young ones magic. She knew that would be asked of them. They would teach them more than enough magic to make sure they could protect and defend their families when the time came. Prinnie knew that more than enough blood would be spilled before this was all over. And she didn't like it at all. Not in the least.

Prinnie and Myvea walked home slowly hands in hand. Rafael watched them go from his place safe high in the mountains. He would only think about them fondly and believe that nothing bad would ever become of them. If that were to happen, the Charter would have to deal with him.

It had been a long time since he had fully let himself feel the extent of his magic within his body. He had been vastly powerful as a boy and right now at eighteen, he was even more powerful than some of the most ancient wizards sorcerers of the old legends. He knew there would be a time when he would have to let it all out. The Charter were becoming too dangerous for the people of Aregoria to even live happily.

Aunt Prinnie had spoken of a time long ago where Gregoria was a place of peace and now, so much was happening that he feared the peace they had been so fortunate to be living in was going to be unjustly taken away.

He liked living on the farm and he liked walking through portals to other worlds and exploring. It made learning and magic more fun, as not every world had magic. And that in itself was a learning process he had not thought to discover. The most similar things he had discovered on otherworld were that they had the opportunity to live in peace, however it looked for their people. The Charter were known to take away that peace and control the people of Aregoria in fear. At least that was how Prinnie had put it. Over the years, it had gotten increasing worse.

He would leave Ga'Yorth and find a safe place to hide until he knew it was safe to return. He would find a safe place for the town to live comfortably and he would decide how he would handle the Charter in the future. Because they needed to be handled.

He nodded his head as he let the image of his Aunt and Uncle disappear and stood gathering his things to leave. He knew where he would head to first and as he pulled on his thick sheep wool coat and button it tightly in the front, knew that it was definitely a place that the Charter could ever find him.

As destinies go, this one was starting to be more trouble than he was for him as a child. He looked forward to simpler days and most of all his Aunt Prinnie's cooking.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for clicking on this chapter and reading it. I have been away from writing for a while just doing other stuff. It has taken some time to find the time to balance everything that I want to do with my time. So, this has been the first time I have actually sat down to write something and publish.

Thank you for understanding 😊

I hope your writing is all going well 💖🧿

Kindest Regards,
