Hamish's pov:
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───The first week passed slowly but surely. I managed to memorise my timetable. Most of my classes I share with either Toby, or one of the other kids from the group, Josh. For an anime kid, he's pretty cool, you don't see that a lot these days.
I got to know the others in the group as well, Maia befriended me almost immediately, taking me under her wing. She really does live up to her title as the mum of the group.
And Jack.
I haven't talked to him often, we've shared a few polite conversations here and there but I don't feel like I truly know him yet. However, I don't need too. It's a funny feeling, it's like I've known him forever, but the feelings I get when we make eye contact... it's new and exciting. The butterflies swarming in my stomach and the way the birds sing when he is around, I have never been lucky enough to experience until now.
Of course, there's the girlfriend. But all it is is a simple crush, nothing more. It would be silly of me to think that we could ever be something. He likes Tui, not me.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
I am currently sitting on the familiair floor of J block. Maia on my left, and Toby on my right. The whole group is here, a group I'm proud to say I'm more or less a part of now. Sitting directly across from me, is Tui and Jack. They are watching something together on his phone. Their heads are leaned against one another's, enjoying each other's company.
Unlike them, I am most certainly not enjoying it. As selfish as it is, that should be me. I should be next to him, in his warm embrace. It is all I long for now.
Jack, you will be mine.
"You're staring" a knowing voice comes from my left. They speak with caution, making sure no one else in the group can hear what we are saying.
I turn to face Maia, eyebrows raised in surprise at how easily she could read me.
"Don't worry, the others haven't noticed. They're an oblivious bunch. But be careful Hamish, he has a girlfriend. Believe me when I say you don't want to get on her bad side" Maia explains, warning me for my own sake.
"But I just-" I protest, but Maia wasn't done.
"No buts Hamish" she took a deep breath considering what to say next, "All I'm saying is that if you really do have feelings for him, which you clearly do, just be careful about how you act on it."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I question
"Well, if you're going to send him your googly eyed stares all of the time and not do anything about it, you're just waisting your time. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take mate. Make those feelings worth something. When the time is right, tell him" she smirked while looking away, returning back to what she was doing before.
Maybe I will tell him. What have I got to loose right?
To my further left, I hear a quiet but audible "that's what she said" uttered by Sophie. What's not quiet is the laughing that erupts from Emily and the blonde. It catches the attention of the whole group and I raise my gaze to face the noise. But before I turn my head to the source of the laughter, my eyes are met with my favourite green orbs, who were waiting for mine to look up.
This time, he was staring at me. And he doesn't break eye contact. I stare into his soul until I receive a harsh nudge to my side by Maia, knocking me out of my trance.

Tui's pov:
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───Jack thought I didn't notice.
But I did. It's all I see.
The subtle glances at lunch time, the smitten looks on both of their faces when they are conversing. I lived in denial for the first few days after I noticed, but something is different about them. They don't talk to each other like friends do.
Hamish has only been here a week, and he has already found a way to meddle in my relationship. The worst part is, I don't even think Jack realises what's happening. When he does, I'm worried it will be too late for us.
And I can't let that happen. He's mine. But Hamish doesn't seem to have picked up on that, maybe he needs a reminder.
