After dinner, Jun decided to take Hana home again. But this time, instead of going inside her house, Hana took him straight to the rooftop. "Wow, it's been so long. Nothing has changed here, either." Jun commented.
"We have so many memories of this place.." Hana murmured. Every glance of him reminded her of the time they shared together. All the unforgettable memories she can never put behind. They both climbed onto the roof again, like they always do. As they watched the stars, Hana finally worked up her courage.
"Jun."
"What is it?" Jun shifted to look at her.
"I've been thinking about this for a while..., Let's end things here."
"End things? End what?" Jun was obviously confused.
"Us. Let's end us here."
"You can't be serious." Jun sat up but kept his eyes on her.
"I've fallen out of love. You should move on as well."
"What do you mean?! Fallen out of love?!" Jun shouted.
"Look at the moon and the stars. They exist in the same sky but they never connected. It's like you and me. I'm the past and you're the future, we were never on the same timeline."
"Stop speaking nonsense, I know you're not serious!" Despite what he said, he was starting to panic. Hana tried her best to not show her true emotions but the harder she tried, the harder it will become for her to let go of those feelings. It would remain deep in her heart for days, weeks, months, even years.
"I'm being serious. I wish the world had better timing for you and me. I'll move on from you and so will you." She said with a stern face and that's how Jun knew she meant what she said.
Hana got down from the roof and was heading for the doors. Jun immediately chased after her and pinned her against the wall. "You can't just say goodbye like this. You can't just end it like this! There's still us and you know it!"
"Jun.." she sighed, "It's over.. Maybe one day, we will connect again. But for now, this is goodbye." She pushed his hands away and ran down the stairs, inside her apartment, leaving Jun in the same position. He couldn't process. He couldn't understand why she would want to break up with him so suddenly. No matter how much he thought about it, he still couldn't come up with an answer.
Soon after he regained his consciousness, he ran down to her apartment floor, banging her door, yelling out her name to only be greeted by silence. Jun was sitting with his back against the door, crying his eyes out. He always held back his emotions but when it came to Hana, it's impossible to. On the other side of the door, Hana was also in the same position, sobbing. As much as she wanted to, she couldn't give in to him.
After a while, Hana decided to go inside Jun's room. It's been a while since she's been in his room. She always tried to avoid his room because it reminded her of his presence. The room was pretty much empty. She sat on a chair on his desk and unconsciously opened one of the drawers. Inside, she found a sketchbook. Out of curiosity, she flipped through a few pages and on one of those pages, she found a sketch of herself.
"I regret coming inside now.." she said with a shaky voice, and she continued sobbing again while staring at a picture of herself. Seeing herself on Jun's sketchbook only made her even more heartbroken.
A month passed, Hana had cut contact with Jun. She ended her career officially and is prepared to leave the country. She made sure to properly farewell her other friends as she knows she won't be back for at least a few years.
At the airport
"You're really leaving..." Mingyu still couldn't process it. "Do you really have to go back? You can just find a new career here!" Said Dino, who also couldn't let go. The whole time, as everyone was tearing up, Hana was the only one keeping a smile on her face.
"You really didn't tell Jun?" Jeonghan asked. "If I told him, there's no way he would let me go." Hana replied. "He would fight with his whole life to keep you here." Woozi made a half-hearted joke.
"I have to get on the airplane now, take care guys~" Hana wanted to cry but she hid her sadness behind her smile.
"HANA!" It was a guy shouting from a few feets away. The guy sprinted over and it was Jun. "Who told him?" Hana asked. Everyone pointed their fingers at Wonwoo. "It's too unfair to leave without even saying goodbye to him." Wonwoo insisted.
"Hana.." Jun said, out of breath. Hana couldn't bring herself to answer him, she only looked at him with a tearful eye.
"Why..." He yelled, "Together, we're supposed to be one! Why didn't you tell me anything?" He looked at her with a hurtful expression, "Just stay here with me!
"This is exactly why. If you knew, you wouldn't let me go."
"Then just don't go!"
"Boarding gate 610, please get on board." The speaker announced.
"I'm sorry... I can't stay here forever, I won't last. Just let me go..." A tear slipped from her eyes. She turned around and dragged her suitcase past the boarding gate. She's out of reach now, leaving Jun behind. He somehow knew what was coming but he just hoped he was wrong.
"I'll wait for you..." he whispered.
