     In theory, Reign sounds like a pretty fucking awesome name to have, and it would be if the idea for the name didn't come from one of his parents many acid trips. As far as Rey Solace was concerned, both his parents were selfish pieces of shit with no regard for their actions or consequences. Both of Rey's parents were drug addicts, as exemplified through his mother's In utero drug exposure that led to him losing half his hearing by the age of 6.

     Pretty much as soon as Rey was born he was put into the custody of his grandparents... until his grandma died when he was 8, leaving him and his step-grandfather who of course didn't want him, leading to him being put in the foster care system. All those things they say about how horrible foster care is are completely true; 90% of foster parents are just looking for extra income through food stamps, an extra hand to help with house work, or a human punching bag, Rey's never experienced anything more in all of the 17 foster homes he's been in in the last 7 years.

     The year is 1985, Rey is 14 years old and he is on foster home lucky number 18; the Harringtons. The Harringtons are a high class family in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Might be the best home he's been in yet, but that's really not saying much. Mr. and Mrs. Harrington are rarely home, leaving him under the almost constant supervision of their only son Steve Harrington. As much as he hates to admit it, Rey really likes Steve and not just because he'd been forced to spend every moment of this summer with him since he got to Hawkins.

     Rey's life was never normal, but is he prepared for angry Russian spies, some crazy inter-dimensional flesh monster, and confronting his feelings for the curly-haired nerd he just met?

     Probably not.
