There you sat, finishing school projects and papers before break in your room. David Bowie was playing on the radio, a gentle breeze flowed into your room. Indiana Jones, Star wars, Battlestar Galatica posters all filled your room. You grew up a bit on the nerdy side, but that's only because you were so close with your little brother, Dustin.
On your off time, which you didn't have much of, you were playing video games at the arcade with him, visiting the video store and bugging the crap out of Steve Harrington. You guys had a close relationship due to Dustin, which you were grateful of. You knew Steve like the back of your hand, and he knew you like his. The two of you had a constant flirty banter which needless to say, Dustin didn't approve of.
You also found some sort of pride of being on the cheer team at Hawkins high, it kept you busy and occupied. It was something your mom had always wanted you to be apart of, and somehow you found an immense amount of joy in it.
But there was just one thing you couldn't help but notice, you were always left out of the loop. Anytime Dustin and Steve were talking about certain things, they had hushed voices and almost always changed the subject whenever you came by. You couldn't help but wonder what the hell they were hiding. Was it some sort of conspiracy theory that they were trying to solve ? Or was there a planet of aliens planning to invade earth? You noticed you watched too many science fiction novels, and it was probably just boy talk. You ignored it for a while.

As David Bowies' Space Oddity played throughout your room, You finished up some papers, and added final touches to your project.

"Y/N, Do you copy?" The words came out of the walkie-talkie that you had on your bedside table. It came from Dustin, and that's how you two chose to communicate most times. Dustin used it more often than you did.

"Go for Y/N," You smiled to yourself as you spoke into the device. You placed your school belonging into your backpack, and went over to your closet to plan an outfit for the last day of school before break.

"I need a big favor from you," Dustin replied and you could hear him coming up the stairs. You opened your bedroom door and noticed Dustin about to knock on it.

"Depends. What's the favor kid?" You asked, leaning up against your own doorframe.

"I need you for D&D tomorrow night," He placed his hands together about to beg and plead.

"Nope, not this time, I have plans. I'm chaperoning Harringtons' date to the game tomorrow," You told him, slowly turning your back on tour younger brother. Dustin groaned loudly, and let himself into your room.

"Please? Lucas won't be there and it's a really important night for our campaign!" He pleaded.

"No, after the last time I took you and Mike to D&D night, your friend Eddie gave me a weird look. I'm not going back," You stated.

You remember that night, walking into the school with Mike and Dustin. You greeted them, and they allowed you to sit and observe. You made some comments under your breath about things you would do in the campaign. Often more than once, Eddie would catch your glance. His long hair, sleeves  rolled up, rings on his fingers. You couldn't help but look. He was beautiful. Eddie noticed, and gave you a wink when you both made eye contact.
