recap: "He, He..."
"He, He" he lets out a loud sigh, "do you know what his job was?" he asks me.
"of course, he was a taxi driver"
"yes, well, when he was driving the taxi back to where they were kept at night, he was involved in a car crash. In the other car, there were three other people, they all died during the crash."
"I don't get what he did to you though"
"The three people that died were my beautiful wife and the two twins." he starts to cry and I really do feel sorry for him but he doesn't know that it was my neighbours fault, it may not of been any of their faults.
"It was an accident though"
"I know but they're gone and now I feel horrible, I was involved in the murder, I wish I could help you but I can't, they masked their voice and I never saw them in person. I'm s-s-sorry!" he is crying a waterfall now, at least I know that he never meant it. I'm ok with that.
"I don't deserve to live" he cries
"Yes, you do, don't say that! You helped us and after all you've kept inside of you, you do deserve to live!" I reply a bit harsh "lets just go home, we've worked enough today, and Chief Johnson, we need you."

I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I quickly look at my clock, 2:36, who in their right mind would wake up that time of day? I answer my phone before it stops ringing
"hello?" I say groggily
"Hello, Detective Cole, you must come over to Chief Johnsons house immediately, we think you might want to see this. Just get changed into some jeans and a shirt, hurry up" the line goes dead, he hung up.
I quickly go and get changed then head over to Chief Johnsons house. What could be wrong? What happened? Is it important?
I walk through the door and see Chief Johnson lying on the floor with a bloody knife stabbed into his stomach, there is a note attached to the knife. Before I know what I am doing I carefully detach the note on the knife and read it:
Dear all of my fellow detectives,
I know what I did was wrong and you have forgiven me but I don't think that I can ever forgive myself. I know that you need my help but I can't live with myself anymore. I am with my wife and my children now, I am happy once again. Thank you for everything that you have ever done to me and know that I am sorry for betraying you. I have two more things to say before I leave forever, first of all Detective Cole, I am giving you my job, I know that you will do a great job and just know that you were like a son to me. Secondly, to show you that I am truly sorry, I have given you my phone, there will be a blocked number, that is the person that put me up to this in the first place, my passcode is 1234. Hope I have helped you and I am sorry for the pain that I have causes everybody.
Chief Johnson
I look at his phone and search for the blocked number. Ahah! We will call this number tomorrow, but for now we will go to bed knowing that we have lost a dear friend and that we have yet another clue. I dismiss everybody and go to sleep.
Thank you for reading this chapter! And thanks Libby, for coming up with what he should of done to Chief Johnson. I hope that you are enjoying this book. I should hopefully be doing quite a few chapter because I am really enjoying writing it! It's 23 days until my birthday and I am so excited. Well thanks again for reading and 68 reads!!
