el had just turned 18 a few months ago, hopper had helped her move into mike's apartment and lets just say by the end of it hopper had to sleep on the couch because el was scared his tears would stop him from driving.

it was still different for el, she never lived away from her dad. she still had her cat, and all her stuffed animals. she had mike. but she always felt like something was missing.

currently el is playing with her cat while mike is at his new job. he works at family video, he always has funny stories to tell about his one coworker who's been trying to get a girlfriend, and his other coworker that always tries to help him.

el looked over at her phone which had buzzed, she got a text from her new redheaded friend she met in her senior year.

hey bae, come meet me at the park off cornwallis or else i'll actually steal your cat this time😈
and wear something nice

ummm..... ok

she turned off her phone and went to go get changed into something a little nicer.

she put on a pale orange, flowy dress. it reminded her of a creamsicle. she paired it with her basic white socks and her mary janes. she grabbed her bag, pet her cat and walked out the door.

the good thing about mikes new coworkers is that they pick him up every morning so he doesn't leave el stranded at the apartment.

she got in his car and drove off to the park, the park where she first met mike.

she pulled over and parked on the side of the road and saw her friend, max, sitting on the swings.

"there you are loca" max ran up to her and gave her a big hug.

"now come on, we have a surprise" max dragged el over to the tree that her and mike went to every sunday to read.. and make out.

"a surprise?" el came to a stop under the tree.

"yeah just stay right here" max ran back to the playground and tried hiding behind the slide.

el kept looking over in her direction, confused. that is until she felt big hands on her waist. she whipped around and saw her boyfriend standing there. he smiled at her and kissed her forehead.

"what are you doing here? aren't you supposed to be at work?"

"yeah, but we closed early"

"why?" she titled her head a bit.

"because" he just stared at her

"..because why?"

he cleared his throat and cupped her cheeks, "el, i've had a crush on you since my sophomore year"

he paused, "yeah well you're my boyfriend now so you can't really have a crush on me" she looked up at him.

"well yeah i know but um" el started to get worried, she didn't know where this was going and she was concerned.
