It was later, the two could smell Juliet's cooking filling the house.
James sat on Sam's desk chair, Sam straddled his lap with markers in his hands, both an evil grin on their face. "Okay just don't draw anything inappropriate, I do have to wear this around my mom"
"I know" Sam said sarcastically, his grin growing more evil "now close your eyes"
He closed his eyes, only to open them about thirty minutes later when Juliet called from downstairs, informing that dinner was ready. "Uh..?" James said.
"Keep your eyes closed" Sam whispered "One second!" He called to his mom, not moving even an inch away from Bucky's arm.
Sam focused as he finished the last black line, popping the lid back on afterwards. "Take a look" Sam said and Bucky opened his eyes, gasping at what he saw. It looked like he had a metal arm, a red star on the side-
"This looks sick!" James said, jumping up from the seat and going to the mirror so he could see all the way around while Sam turned off the music.
They had been listening to music, sharing earbuds, either one of them or both humming along softly from time to time.
The two hurried down the stairs for dinner. Taking their seat there was a knock on the door, Sam popped back up "Dad!"
He ran to get the door, jumping into his dad's arms once he made sure it really was him. Sam's dad: Robert, worked unpredictable and long hours, so Sam wasn't always able to see him; because of school or being asleep, etc.
So whenever he did actually see him, his heart filled with an overwhelming amount of joy. "Oh my go- hi- I can't- I can't belive you're here!" His words mumbled and mushed together, tears blurring his eyes.
"Hi, son" his dad said, hugging him tightly.
Once they pulled apart, Robert kicked off his shoes and sat down his bag before following his son into the dinning room.
Juliet stood abruptly once her husband came into view, a warm smile on her face as she hugged the other.
Pulling apart, Robert gave a quick peck to his wife before muttering a "now let's eat, I'm starving"
The Wilson's, Robert and Juliet sat next to each other at the head of the table; Sam was sat across from James.
"Hello, James" Robert said, it was always good seeing the young boy hanging out with his son, and it brought a smile to his face.
"Hello, Mr. Wilson" James greeted. It was a running joke that James would always greet the other formally, since for the first few months he could not remember Robert's name for the life of him.
The front door squeaked open and clicked shut, catching everyone's attention.
"Dad?!?!" Sarah said from the door. She had just returned from a night at her friend's house. She ran into the kitchen where she heard the commotion.
Robert stood up, immediately being clobbered by his daughter. His shirt damped on his shoulder from Sarah's tears.
