what the hell.
i open my eyes, and the phones ringing, but Aunt Claudia got there before me. if i know any better whoever she's talking to, they're gonna talk for hours. i roll over to my side and look at the clock, 7:25 a.m

well i guess i better get up anyway. i sigh, and sit up, i do my usual morning routine, and walk into the living room, to my surprise Aunt Claudia is already off the phone, "hey Aunt Claudia! who was that on the phone?" i ask, "oh, it was just Dustin's friends, their going to come over today and surprise Dusty!" she exclaims, i raise my eyebrows and smile, oh fun.

Aunt Claudia looks at the clock, 8:25 a.m, "oh shoot! im going to be late picking up Dustin! there should be some food in the fridge, and Dustin's friends should be over any minute no-" she got cut off my the doorbell. "oh! that must be them, would you be so kind and let them in? i gotta go." Aunt Claudia asks, "yeah of course!" i say while smiling sweetly. she gives me a tight hug, and leaves. i walk over to the door, and well it is the party. they come barging in, "oh hey y/n! i guess you know why we're here?" Mike says mildly annoyed. "yep Aunt Claudia told me, before she left." i tell Mike, i see him and Eleven holding hands, i smile at her, "hey El!" she gives me a smile back, and hugs me. i hug back obviously. "well, we're gonna go set up ok?" Mike says, "have fun." and with that they set everything up.

'this is gold leader, returning to base. do you copy? over'. a very familiar voice says over Mike's walkie-talkie. they dont answer, 'this is gold leader, returning to base. do you copy? over. i repeat: this is gold leader, returning to base. do you copy? over'. dustin says mildly annoyed, 'i repeat: this is goddamn gold leader-' he gets cut off, probably by Aunt Claudia. after that, it was quiet.

i see Aunt Claudia pull in the driveway and i get up, "they're here!" i whisper yell at the party. i run out to the garage door, "WELCOME HOME DUSTY!!" i yell, he looks up, he smiles a big smile. "Y/N?!? you're here!!! for summer break im guessing?" "yeah for summer break!" i run to him and hug him. "i've missed you." i whisper in his ear, "yeah, we've all missed you." he chuckles, "do you need help, with you're bags?" i ask Dustin, he looks back, "nah, i've got it." i smile at him and walk back in the house.

Dustin come in the house with his bag, and Aunt Claudia left. he runs to his room and slams his bag down on his bed. he sighs, and looks over at his turtle, he chuckles, "at least someone's happy im home." "wow what am i? chopped liver." i say like im hurt, he just laughs, just then his robots start making noises, he looks at me just to make sure i hear it too. i run outta his room and go to where the party's hiding. i see Dustin come over from the room, i look over at Max, she looks over at Lucas, Lucas looks over at Will, Will looks at Mike, and Mike waits for about 5 seconds, before turning to El, "now!" he tells her and she opens her eyes, once she opens her eyes, the toys stop.

Dustin runs over to the toys, and we quietly walk behind Dustin with a 'welcome home Dustin' sign, Dustin stands up, i look over at the party, '3, 2, 1' and we all blow our noisemakers, Dustin turns around screaming, and spraying his hairspray in Lucas' face. just then Aunt Claudia comes home, "hey Aunt Claudia, im like kinda late for work, can i use you're car?" i plead. she gives me a little nod, i hug her, and then run over to Dustin, i ruffle his hair. "i'll see you later?" i ask him, he nods his head.

i look down at the clock, 11:25 a.m, im almost at the mall, thankfully. i turn on the radio, but only listen to it for like three minutes, before i arrive at the mall. i run through the mostly empty mall into Scoops Ahoy. "hi, sorry im late. my little cousin came back home today, and i helped his friends give him a little 'welcome home' surprise thing." i say all in one breath to Robin. Robin looks up from the table she was cleaning. "woah, calm down. its fine, i just got here like 25 minutes ago. and besides dingus isn't even here yet. he's always late." Robin says annoyed. i give her a gentle smile. oh my god, she's so pretty. even when she's annoyed. wait. no. im straight, 100%.
