Rory and Barnes were in blue jumpsuits in cells across from each other. They've been in there a while. Barnes noticed every now and then guards would go to other cells and feed them food that didn't look regular. Later those people would be dragged away, there body's limp and unliving.

Barnes also noticed that Rory would talk to him but Widower didn't. Widower just stood silent and would nod or stare. Sometimes he would point at something but that was about it before he would sleep.

Barnes did regain his memories of the Widower/Rory in their time in Hydra. He noticed some of the people in the cells knew him when he was the Winter Soldier. They would taunt him and call him names. At one point Rory took up for but the Widower wouldn't the Widower would try to ignore it and continue to play with the hem of his shirt. Barnes noticed that talk of Hydra or certain names being thrown around like Widower, Winter Soldier, Rumlow, agent, etc, would bring out the Widower. Barnes would always ignore the people that taunt him but today was different.

Barnes was trying to have a conversation with Rory but one of the idiots from another cell made  Widower come out.

"Come on Winter Soldier, show us what your all about! When wanna see what you and friend here can do!" Erin chuckled. He was the main idiot that got on Barnes nerves. Barnes ignored him though while Widower turned over on his side, back facing Barnes while laying down.

"Aww is the Winter Soldier shy?" Jason teased. He was Erin's little backup. "I think he is Jason. But I don't know why, he wasn't when he killed my wife!" Erin yelled at Barnes.

"Come on we know you want to. You want to kill something living. Or do you prefer killing young women who can't take up for themselves?" Barnes stayed quiet. "Either way you are a murderer and not just a twisted murderer, you are a stupid, dumb, mindless, asset that will never be normal or human. You will never fit in society. I know that, you know that, and everyone else knows that." Erin said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"You don't know anything." Barnes said lowly. Barnes cat his glare on the floor and tried not to think about what Erin said even though those world's cut him up inside. It hurt and cut him deeper than any knife could because he thought what Erin said was true. He thought he was a monster. He knew he was.

He knew it ever since he went in public and people would glance at him and walk away from him with their children. He knew it since people would point at his metal arm and snicker or look at him like they pity him. He knew it since people would get tense and the air would get uncomfortable in the rooms he walked in. He didn't want people to think he was crazy, mean, and rude. He wanted people to trust him and not to be scared.

For 90 years he fought and got used to do others dirty work. He fought hard to get his freedom but even when the court said he was free, he didn't believe it. He couldn't. Not when people only thought the worse of him. He knew wasn't free because being free is being able to walk in streets and places and not having people think when he's gonna snap and kill them all.

If he was going to live for a long time and having to fight to live only to get controlled by the same sick game, then he didn't want to live. He didn't want to live forever.

"You don't know anything about me." Barnes said rolling his eyes at Erin. Jason had went to lay down and abandoned the conversation.

"Oh, but I do." Erin said earning Barnes to quirk a shake his in disbelief. "Pierce told me all about you. Rumlow told me about you too." Erin smiled sickly. The names that rolled off Erin's tongue made Barnes shiver at the thought of Pierce and Rumlow. He clutched his hands into fists, knuckles turning white. He locked his jaw. He knew that they were trying to see if they could bring out the Winter Soldier but at this rate they actually would and that's what angered and scared Barnes at the same time.
