Chapter 11-Not Over Yet

It was right then, however, that the very ground began to shake. Everyone was thrown onto the ground in a large heap.

"What's happening?" asked Cindy, rising back onto her feet.

"There's a disturbance in the Force!" shouted Doppy. He and Carl ran to hug each other.Jimmy listened intently, and saw that Nesmith was doing the same. They locked eyes and said simultaneously, "Space ships!"

Jimmy ran to the emperor, who asked him, "What's going on?" when he saw him.

Jimmy had his answer ready. He had a very bad memory of being chased by an alien fleet. But he had disabled their ships. "I have a sickening feeling we were followed. On our way here, we got caught in a skirmish with an alien species called Yolkains. Somehow they followed us but how. Unless..."

"What, how did they follow you?" asked the emperor, though Jimmy was pleased it was out of concern rather than revulsion.

"They must've stowed away in some shuttles," said Jimmy. It was the only explanation that made sense. There was no other way it could be done. He looked up to stare at the emperor. "Emperor, your people are in danger. The best we can do for you is..."

That was when a powerful laser cannon was fired, destroying the ballroom roof. People scattered, but fortunately, no one was injured. Up above was a Yolkian shuttle. It stopped above the building. In the newly made hole, it began to project a large hologram of none other than King Goobot, slimy body and all.

"People of Zeenu," King Goobot called down, "yes we know who you are. We're an advance alien race." Jimmy noted that this was said very gloatingly. "Anyway, we know you are harboring Jimmy Neutron and his little friends. They are responsible for crimes against the Eggpire. Turn them over now and we will leave Zeenu untouched. What's it gonna be? This is King Goobot speaking."

The emperor turned to Jimmy in surprise. "Is this true?"

"The only truth is that he's our enemy, and he attacked first," replied Jimmy, emphasizing the last four words.

To Jimmy's relief, the emperor nodded understanding. He looked up at the hologram of Goobot, standing up to his full height, which looked silly to the giant image of Goobot's visage. "Hear me then, King Goobot. Jimmy Neutron is our friend. You want him, you'll have to go through the Zeenuian guard! Do your worst!"

King Goobot didn't look disappointed by the emperor's lack of cooperation. On the contrary, he smiled like the emperor had said just what he was hoping to hear. He leered down at the people of Zeenu and said, "Very well, all shuttles prepare for landing. Prepare to attack in twenty minutes." The hologram flickered and Goobot was gone.

Jimmy looked around. Not only was everyone looking terrified and fearful, but they were also looking at the emperor. It took a moment for him to realize this. When he saw the ballroom in absolute silence, he turned to Jimmy. "Jimmy Neutron, you know what we are up against. The guard is your's to lead."

Jimmy let this sink in. He hadn't led aliens into battle since Intergalactic Showdown was cancelled. Yet now the time had come again for him to do so. Smiling confidently, Jimmy replied, "If you're all going to help me scramble eggs, we have work to do." The crowd started to cheer, but Jimmy held up his hand for silence. "Now let's get to work! Emperor, I think I know how to beat the Yolkians."

"Then by all means, do tell," said the emperor eagerly.

"The Yolkians, Jimmy explained, "for all their advanced technology, are nothing without their leader. We capture the king, we win the battle. Even more importantly, if we destroy their ships, they'll be trapped on the planet."
