" Leaving? I don't think so " Dynox continued. " Not so soon, that is. Our business isn't done yet ".
" Let them go " Rain said to the alien with his eyes narrowed.
" And I will. All you have to do is come back with me and we'll continue our experiments. Hopefully this time, you'll do it reluctantly " Dynox responded while pointing his index at him.
Rain gritted his teeth again and clenched his trembling fists. Right now, he was unsure on what to do.
" Don't do it, man " Jones intercepted the conversation.
Christ spoke as well. " Yeah Rain, don't do it. We'll figure something out so we could save them. We just- ".
" No......... " Rain stopped her. " My life isn't worth theirs. I'm turning myself in ".
" What?! ".
" Rain! No! ".
He looked back at his friends. " Sorry, but letting someone risk their lives for mine isn't really something I'm okay with. I have to do this, guys..... ".
Christ looked at him. " Rain...... ".
He began walking toward the massive alien. His head was looking at the ground.
He got closer.
And closer.
And closer.
And closer.
He then suddenly stopped by the three unconscious astronauts. He looked at Samantha who was laying down unconscious beside him.
He then spoke. " Is it okay if I check on them first? ".
" Very well " Dynox answered simply. " The experiment I used was supposed to give them a temporary knockout. However, maybe it doesn't give the same on humans ".
Rain knelt down beside Samantha and began checking her pulse by putting his fingers on her neck.
He felt beating, signaling to him that her heart was beating.
He then did the same for Valerie, same result.
He then did the same for Isamu as well, same result as the other two.
Rain then spoke again to Dynox, who was behind his back. " They're alive ".
" Good ".
" Can I ask you one more thing? " Rain asked without turning his head toward the alien behind him.
" Go ahead ".
" By turning myself in right now, will you let my friends go free? ".
" As long as they don't try to break you out until the experiments are done then yes, I will " Dynox answered his questions.
" Okay...... " said Rain as he slowly rose to his feet.
" Rain........ " Christ muttered with sadness and worry in her voice.
" And you really doing this, man? " said Jones. If you do this, we won't be sure if you come back alive. You're gonna worry everyone that cares 'bout you, including us. Do you really want to do that? ".
Rain was silent. He did not answer the question.
" He's making the right choice here " said Dynox as he walked towards Rain. " He's sacrificing himself for the sake of the people he cares about. That is a very noble act, I respect it ".
Dynox had gotten closer.
And closer.
And closer.
He was now right behind Rain's back.
