Kenny looked around, machines plugged in, things in his nose and arms. His body felt a burning sensation every time he moved. He would heave a cough every so often, and the doctors would constantly ask him if he needed anything, or if he wanted to take his coat off. He would decline, wanting to ask if his friends would come, but every time he tried, pain spread through his body. He would try to fall asleep, but his coughing kept him up. Finally, rest came. The dark void of his eyelids slowly came, and then a creak of the door woke him.

"Ugh... Is this even the right room?" Eric whined.

"I think so..." Kyle looked over, "Kenny!" Kyle said excitedly.

Kenny sat up, fighting through the pain, "Hmm Ghrms!" he heard, intending a "Hey Guys!"

"Hey Kenny, we uh, got you a gift... it's a toy drone," Eric said, even he sounded sad for such an obnoxious boy.

Kyle looked up "Hey," he chuckled, "don't tell him what it is!"

"Oh, yeah, sorry".

All of a sudden, Stan looked up and ran out the hospital doors. Kyle looked at Kenny, then ran after Stan.

"Where are you going? Kenny needs us now man! You can't leave."

Stan wiped tears from his eyes, "I'm not the one who's leaving," he pointed towards the hospital doors, "he is!" Stan ran off, back to his house. Kyle walked back into the hospital and saw Eric outside Kenny's door. "Why are you out here?"

"They said Kenny needed to rest... I'm scared for him." Eric burst out in tears, Kyle followed. They stayed like that for a while. When they were finished, they got back in the car and drove home.

"I'm gonna fight for him! I'll raise money for him, I swear!" Eric sighed, "I'll continue playing games for him."

Kyle and Stan were at school, "I'm gonna visit him after school want to come?" Kyle asked.

"No thanks dude, I-I need some space."

After school Stan sat on a stump of a tree by the cows. He thought of how Kenny was coughing as they lit cow crap. He decided to finally visit him, that he was being a horrible friend. He got to the hospital and stormed in.

"Do you know were you're going little boy?" a nurse asked.

"I'm going to see my friend!" Stan happily replied.

He opened the door, but the bed was empty, a teddy bear on the floor like someone dropped it. Stan was confused, he walked through other doors, with no sign of Kenny. He sat down against Kenny's bed, hands to his face.

"H-His heart just, stopped," Kyle walked in, his eyes red with tears.

"Did he say anything?" Stan bawled.

"He just said, 'Were's Stan?" Kyle sat down next to Stan.

"I'm the worst friend ever. I was to selfish to see that my friend was in pain."

Eric barged through the door, "YOU GUYS! I DID IT!" Eric ran out, Kyle and Stan followed. "I got enough money... and I bought my own doughnut shop!"

Stan looked and Eric, "I'm not the worst friend, Eric is!"

"You fat bastard! You used Kenny, your dying friend, to buy a doughnut shop? You truly are the worst friend ever!"
